  • The Missing Goat, Hmmmmm, What About The Missing Dog?

Well, everbody has been talking about the missing goat from Thunder Mountain, well what about the singing dog from Pirates of the Caribbean. It hasn't been there since December or November as far back as i can tell. Two weeks ago i went so im not sure if they have installed it in that time. So have people not been talking about it because they simply have not noticed, hmmm, im just wondering when they are gonna bring him back.

Maybe after being in the ride for so many years they took him out for a much needed walk?

The singing dog is in the same scene as the singing donkey.

He sits to the right of the 3 Minstrel pirates.

He USED to sit next to the pirates. Now...he's gone. And to make matters worse, I think he's missing from the sound track as well. They did something to the sound of that scene after the Johnny Depp refurb. I think it had something to do with re-introducing the pirate song at that point. I could be wrong, but I would have sworn that the donkey used to be much louder and the dog was helping to sing with his howling. Now...the donkey is much softer, and the dog is gone.

              Or...maybe I'm imagining things.

Well, I never heard of a "Dog Trick" on Pirates.

Maybe that's why it's absence is not so deeply felt?

Personally, I think the Depp AA's ganged up and ate it. They look creepy enough...

When we went during Christmas you could still hear the dog barking/howling along with the Pirates but it was quieter that before! It's sad that things go missing and take months to return!

I think I miss the cymbal playing toy monkey in the Mansion more than the singing Pirate dog. Now there was some talent!

This is normal - all the characters have their own individual soundtracks, so if one goes on Vacation their sound goes with them.

The Donkey is gone more often than the Dog is at that point, and you can't have a Ghost Donkey braying away... (That would be Haunted Mansion next door.)

Last few times I went on the ride I haven't been able to hear the dog howling either. I hope they bring him back someday soon.

Re: The Missing Goat, Hmmmmm, What About The Missing Dog?

whenever we go down the first drop, and hear the chorus of the song "yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me", I always add "ruff ruff" just for my favorite singing dog. Since he's been missing, I try to fill in on his "harmonies" in his scene.

                          I know.... I'm a geek... what can I do?

I used to work on Pirates of the Caribbean, when I first trained on the ride last May the dog was not there and had been gone for several months. I wasn't sure if they were doing rehab on him, because I didn't see him backstage (i did see some chickens and a goat). However, I do know they muted his audio. So if you are hearing anything... it's probably just in your head.

                              :^)
