  • November/December? looking for info on these months

I know there is the candle light procession, and cast member parties, heck I still can not find out what times the park closes in November and December ( going those 2 months is a toss up.)
Can someone direct me to whats going on in the parks these two months? (((((( please)))))

refurbs? closures? anything to look out for? I am not thinking of going during the holidays, just around them so to speak.

Around Veterans Day weekend it will be insanely busy. I'd avoid that weekend at all costs. But they will be getting the Christmas decorations up around that time, and should pretty much have everything in place by the following week.

Usually the Cast Member parties are held the first Mon. and Tues of December. Those days Disneyland will close around 6 PM I believe it is, but DCA will be open later.

Not sure about the exact times... I know during the week they close earlier but Fri-Sun I think they are open until Midnight. But I could be wrong.

Re: November/December? looking for info on these months

If I remember correctly, between Veterans Day Weekend and Thanksgiving its usually fairly busy, but between Thanksgiving and early December the crowds aren't so bad. The Calendar on Disneylands website only goes up to July right now, and I don't have anything from past trips with the times on them, and other than I remember weekends Disneyland I think is open until Midnight and DCA until 10, I don't remember the weekday times.

Between Veterans day and Mid December, except for the CM parties the first week, and the Candlelight ceremony I don't think there will be anything special going on. I'm guessing they will have the castle lighting again like last year. And Small World may or may not be open by mid November. But thats about all I've got for info right now.

From Thanksgiving you'll start to get the Christmas overlays and parades. As you get nearer to Christmas the park hours will extend and at weekends the Christmas fireworks will kick in. I managed to find these hours from 2007. New Year's Eve DL was open until 2a.m.

            December 1, 2, 7-9, 14-16, 20-23, 25-30:8am - midnight
            December 3, 4:9am - 6pm
            December 5, 6:10am - 8pm
            December 10-12:9am - 9pm
            December 13:9am - 10pm
            December 17-19:9am - 11pm
            December 24:8am - 9pm
            December 31:8am - 2am

Re: November/December? looking for info on these months

And this year the cast member parties will most likely be December 1st and 2nd, as those are the first Mon and Tues. of the month. Those days the park will be open 9 AM to 6 PM.

As for rehabs and closures.... who knows. Thats to far into the future to know for certain. IASW may or may not be open by November, by early December is should be. Anything else is subject to change between now and then. During the holiday season they try not to have to many things down, but you can't plan for break downs. Not sure if the Matterhorn will be down this fall for rehab. And in DCA depending on the schedule for construction and how close to schedule they are for that.... just not sure.

Another thing to plan for is the weather. Being in Montana you're use to cold , but that time of year we also can get rain. Be sure to bring ponchos or umbrellas with you.

you guys are awsome!! So the light procession will most likely be in the first 2 days of december... and the cast partys on the 7th and 8th.
I am beginning to think November is the best time to go  maybe the 10th thru the 17th ?

If you are talking about November, you'd better check to see when Veterans day is, because it will be very busy on that weekend.

Typically the second week of December is the lowest travel week of the year (I once worked with someone in the casino industry who calculated that the second Tuesday of December is the slowest day of the year!). I've been to Disneyland during this time period and it was wonderful. Even though the park might close earlier you can walk onto rides, so you have plenty of time to ride all the rides that you want. Plus the added bonus of all the Christmas decorations, HMH and IASW.

Sir Clinksalot started a thread to help people figure out which days are going to be busy, when there will be conferences, etc.

It is a really great resource!
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.
