  • My birthday at Disneyland!

    Ciao a tutti!

I'll be visiting Los Angeles and Disneyland in a few weeks and on the day of my birthday -May, 6th- I'll be fully enjoying my three-day passport at Disneyland!

Do you have any suggestions about a nice restaurant to have our dinner that day (off-property is ok too). Are there any table service restaurant at Disneyland worth the wait? Oh, by the way, I'm vegetarian (no meat nor fish, ok eggs, milk and cheese).

I'm from Italy and every time I visit Disneyland Paris I can't miss a dinner at the Blue Lagoon and Annette's (just to give you an idea of my background and expectations).

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

If you like the Blue Lagoon, you will probably enjoy dinner at The Blue Bayou Restaurant in DL, and hopefully you will not be shocked by the prices, either.

There are too many options for dining off property or in Downtown Disney for that matter... go here: www.allearsnet.com, it has resort restaurant listings, menu's and pricing as well. Very helpful site. Don't forget to call Disney Dining, they will answer all your questions. Their number is on the DL site.

      Have fuuuuuun!

It doesn't really go under "nice" but I go to the Rainforest Cafe for my birthdays.

The guy is used to dealing with euro's. I'm sure a meal at the Blue Bayou restaurant isn't going to break the bank.
So this is cool -- a fellow Italiano! If you are getting homesick and get the chance to get away from the resort, Nello's at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa is very good. As is Nick's (also in Costa Mesa) which imo offers a more domestic cuisine. Also there's my mom, who cooks the pasta sauce fresh the same way as our family has done for generations.

You can call, I think 60 days, in advance for the Blue Bayou reservations, which is a big must. Below I clipped from the Disneyland Dinning website. I encourage a call asap!

Thank you all for your help!

Dear IMAGINE, I'd love to meet someone at Disneyland. Let's keep in touch! (and it's not just for the gift... )

Dear DisneyIPresume, you're right about the favorable Euro exchange rate: everything is quite cheap compared to Europe, and let's not even talk about Disneyland Paris. I'd love to taste your mom's pasta at your restaurant, maybe in the first part of my vacation, where I'll be staying in Santa Monica and driving a rented car. Is Costa Mesa too much far away from Santa Monica/Hollywood/Burbank area?

                Thanks again all!

the 3 cheese monte cristo and the pomme frites at Cafe Orleans would be (imho) great for a vegetarian. altho i gotta say, that monte cristo is rich!

Hello and Happy Birthday. I love Disneyland as much as the next person. I am speaking as someone who is planning a trip to Italy way out in the future. I can not say that I would leave Italy to come to Anaheim. Before I get bashed let me say again that I love Disneyland. Have a great trip and a nice Birthday!

While we're on the topic of birthdays...how does one acquire a front of the line pass on their birthday? Do you have to go to city hall to get them? Do they only allow X amount? I'm going with a group of five next Monday to celebrate a friend's 17th. Help appreciated!

(Will also be following the same procedure for my birthday this year...08//08/08

As far as I know, front of the line passes don't exist.

Italy is definitely one of the richest country in the whole world for its culture, history and architecture but has tons of flaws too from wich it's nice sometimes to escape (too much disorganisation, too much in love with the old and feared of the new, definitely too much catholic influence into politics).

                            Furthermore, Disneyland is Disneyland!

Ha! Sorry for the apparent misunderstanding. My mom doesn't have a retaurant. This would be at their house which is in Newport Beach which is near Costa Mesa. Anyway I am sure she would want a fellow paisano there to have some homemade pasta -- so as long as you're honest and don't do illegal drugs (lol) I'm sure you would be welcome.

Anyway Costa Mesa and Newport Beach are just about as far from Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Burbank as these cities are from Disneyland which is about a 1 hour drive without traffic each way.
