  • FNSV: a different look

I know alot of you have some negitive views of the finding nemo subs and some of you love it. But I wanna throw a question out their that ive been thinking about the last couple days. To all the people who dont like Nemo would taking out the line element suddenly make this ride more attractive to you? If for instance it was a 15 minute wait or a 30 minute wait. If the wait was magically cut in size would that improve your perception of this attraction? Does the 80 minute line make you feel like the attraction is crap? If so do you also feel that this attraction maybe like fine wine will be appreciated more a bit later when the hype and lines finally normalize?

While this is interesting, people had a great reaction to Indy even if the line was well over 2 hours (which it was for several years). About the only other time I have heard people field similar complaints about a long line/weak attraction was Rocket Rods!

The Fantasyland darkrides seem to get this complaint to actually, I don't completely agree with that because I love those rides!

Pan, but that is usually from the people walking past, not the people coming off. I used to hear a lot of parents comment that they wouldn't wait that long without their kids though. That could be the same case with Nemo. Indy catered to an older demographic, so for thrill seekers used to rollercoaster style lines... 2hrs was average.

well for thrill seeking waiting long lines is normal take six flags for example people willing to wait hours for a coaster with one train. So i guess an addition to my question, Do attractions, that arent thrill rides, automatically get a bad rep when they have a very long line? and could that be one of the major causes of people not warming up to nemo

I think the exact opposite would happen. If the line was cut in half people would probably be underwhelmed by the whole attraction. Waiting 80 minutes you have the ride as a payoff and, when u just walk onto the attraction, it just looses some value for some reason. It's hard to explain.

thats assuming their waiting though, I see many people who after they find out the waittime explain to their kid why there not going to get to ride this attraction today, quite sad really

I just simply don't know why people dislike it so much... shrug.

Theres alot of reasons why people dislike it. The main reason... Look what was there before it. Alot of people don't think the finding nemo subs are half of what the origional submarine voyage was. Also it completely lost the underwater effect. Once you go into the show building you forget you were underwater and that was a huge factor of the origional ride. Theres lots of things.

Maybe if the wait was 5 minutes and I was really bored and happened to be near the ride I would consider going on it, but I did wait only 15 minutes and I don't really have the desire to go on it again. It was cute, but the storyline was off for me. I mean you start off with a storyline that is not the movie and then the ride just replays the movie. I mean what are the odds nemo would get lost again and the exact same events would happen to find him??

the only time that i went on it was when i had early entry into the park, and i ran to the ride and only had about a 5 minute ride. i loved the ride and probably would still have loved it even if i did have to wait in really long line, but i had never been on it before it was nemo, so i didnt have anything to compare it to.

maybe thats the best way to ride it. IMO when you experiance attractions in the past then they are taken from you and somthing else is put in its place you have an Automatic Bias towards that attraction. (please let that make sense) Experiancing the atraction without having rode the old subs is probably the truest experinace you can have.

Without plugging another thread, this is another example of a lack of creativity! I think Crush is highly creative in the sense it took elements of Finding Nemo... and then ran with it on it's own tangent! FNSV from what I have read, again have not ridden it, is a re-hash of the movie. Many will cite the Dark Rides as being the same way... the difference is a gap of 50 years!

That's works to a certain extent but if you wait in line for 60, 90, 120 minutes, you're going to expect a fantastic ride. Also, since the queue is bare, there's nothing to really get you excited about the ride as you wait for so long.

I've actually avoided nemo all together because of the line I usually see for it. When I do get around to finally riding it, I'll use my opinion based on the ride itself and not because of the wait to get on it.

I remember the year rocket rods came out... waited 120 minutes for it because it was during the time I only went once every other year. Nice ride, but if I had an AP then, I'd have avoided it much like I do nemo now.
