  • Favorite DLR Restaurant?

    Hello,
I am just wondering what is your favorite restaurant in DLR. This includes Downtown Disney, DCA, and Disneyland. I kindly ask you do not include Club33 as it is not accesible for most people.

It kinda depends on how pricey or even how simple you want to go...Heck a turkey leg is a great meal for me at times.

The sit down favorates for my family are as follows:

My wife enjoys Rancho del Zocalo for the food choices, atmosphere, and location by BTMRR.

My son likes the Character meals at the Plaza Inn (to the right of the hub just before Tomorrowland).

My Daughter likes the Blue Bayou because of the atmosphere/view and the food.

I like Blue Bayou as well, but if you are looking for something less pricey I like Rancho and in DCA I enjoy the soup/sandwich place on the "waterfront" (the darn name escapes now!).

Has anyone tried the fried chicken? It looks pretty good, but don't want to waste any extra points (yes I'm a member of WW) on substandard fried chicken.
      R.I.P.

Carnation for breakfast - but only if Oscar is there. Once he's gone my family will be sad, and Carnation may no be at the top anymore.

Next is probably Blue Bayou. Probably not so much for the food, although it's acceptable, but because of the memories and tradition.

Hmmm. Memories and tradition as opposed to movie tie-ins or marketing gimmicks. Are you reading TDA Suits?

Oh I forget to tell what I like,
I like the Blue Bayou for special occasions. However when it comes to grab and go food I would say Tommorowland Terrace. They have good food there.

I gotta go with Blue Bayou, and not just because I love Pirates. Their food (ohhh the gumbo...) is just amazing and the atmosphere and service is incredible.
Disneyland will always be the best, because Walt walked there.

I never actually tried the Monte Cristo. Is it any good?

                  Disneyland:

Carnation Cafe for breakfast or lunch. The loaded baked potato soup is to DIE for!

Cafe Orleans: Monte cristo and pommes frites!

                  Plaza Inn: Fried chicken

                  Downtown Disney:

                  Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen

                  Catal

I would have to agree with other posters that it depends on what you want and what atmosphere is desired at that time.

                    I love:

                    Plaza Inn : Pot roast
Yamabuki's : Any Sushi..but their california rolls and crunchy rolls are to die for
Blue Bayou: Montecristo...Yummy - My wife prefers Cafe Orleans but the same food

I used to like the BBQ at Big Thunder Ranch

                    Character Meals
                    Dinner - Goofy's
Breakfast - Lilo & Stitch at PP

There have been MANY discussions on the MC sandwich here. Basically, you either love it or hate it. You have to try it to know.

The Blue Bayou. Duh! And I'm actually in the love-it and hate-it groups for the Monte Cristo, because I love the experience of eating it, but my body isn't capable of dealing with the aftermath.

My absolute favorite restaurant at the Disneyland Resort has to be the Napa Rose in the Grand Californian. The food is truly wonderful and they are so friendly for a high end restaurant. Plus, you can actually eat there without dressing up since it's at Disneyland.

For less expensive fare, we love to go to Storytellers Cafe, also located in the Grand Californian. Their food is good, you get refills on drinks and the price is reasonable for many items. They make a mean hamburger.

                              Disneyland

                              BREAKFAST:

River Belle Terrace: It's all about the Mickey pancakes and I love seeing all the little birds hopping around. Plus a cast member remembered me from the previous day when it was super crowded in the parks. It made my trip.

Carnation Cafe: Awesome place for Mickey waffles and you get to meet Oscar.

                              LUNCH:

Cafe Orleans: Monte cristo and yummy salads.

                              DINNER:

Blue Bayou: The best in terms of atmosphere! The food is pretty good but it's all about being in Pirates of the Caribbean.

                              Downtown Disney

Rainforest Cafe: I love the scenery with the animatronic animals and I'm a nut for their crispy chicken salad.

Uva Bar: Always fast service and their menu has a few yummy options I love. I usually go there on my first night when I arrive.
