  • The Good, Bad and Great

So after getting me and my two kids AP's after not having for 8 months.....we head to Disneyland. So we go on Friday, and right off the back the Trams were shut down. Apparently there was some kind of accident involving one of the trams. Cant really explain, but back half of tram where announcer stands was demolished. Metal wrappings really bent out, and roof of the last car cracked. It didn't look like anyone was hurt, but who knows.

So we walk over, and spend some time at CA. All was well except while in line of Monsters Inc. It goes down.

Head on over to Disneyland, and are having a great time. Then on to Pooh, it goes down while inline. A little boy was hurt, when after repeated warnings from staff to keep his hands out of gates, his elbow gets yanked by gates. Mom was really upset and thought it was broken, apparently not, and all ends well.

So after seeing multiple accidents in the park on one day.......I might add that I have never seen this before in my whole life, I end the day on an incredible showing by Disney staffers. I have for years heard of creating magic, even was trained by Disney while managing a Toys R Us, on creating magic. So I have some time to kill before fireworks, and my kids (3 and 5) love seeing the movie at the opera house. So we head on over. My son starts putting his hands all over glass case where the model of Disneyland is, while one of the staffers was cleaning it. She begins to talk to him asking how the train sounds. She asked me if he liked trains. I said he loved the trains thats all he ever wants to do where ever we go.

She takes off for a few and comes back and asked if I would meet her back at Opera house at 9:55 after fireworks. I said sure. When we come back she (Christy) has a gentleman escort us to train station and we were allowed to ride in the
Lilly Belle caboose. What an incredible moment. It was stunning inside and the guy who escorted us was a wealth of information. (KENT) Then when we stop at Toontown, the engineer came back and gave my kids postcards with a picture of the train.

The Magic still lives! Thanks Disney

Christy is by far one of the best CM's we've got in Adventureland Attractions. A major sweetheart and a true Magic Maker!

I'm glad to hear stories about her making magic for MC'ers. :-)

Whenever I start a shift and I find out she's working as well, I just know it's going to be a magical day. ^_^

That is what Disney is all about. Every CM should be like that. Now all we have to fix are those tram drivers to fix and we are good

What an awesome end to the day!

But I'm curious: are CM's usually allowed to grant those types of special experiences? Can all CM's do it or are there specific ones?

Re: The Good, Bad and Great

Any CM can create a magic moment. The types of things they have access to can be limited though. With this case, the CM is a lead at the opera house and at Trains, so she can easily arrange for this moment to be created.

It's so nice CMs like her were working that day. Friday was not a very good day for DL, with the suicide and the tram accident. But from what I understand the guests didn't know any difference because of CMs like Christy!
