Would you work at the Blue Bayou?

Re: Would you work at the Blue Bayou?

From what I have heard, the Blue Bayou requires some seniority to get into, since it's one of the few Foods positions that you can earn tips, in addition to your regular wage, so it's a coveted position.

No. Unless they start delivering to the greater Anaheim area, with the necessary supplemental tip income that'd bring in. (Being a waitstaff would be out of the question.)

No thanks--I am already vilified enough here on MiceChat--I have little desire to become a CM.

I would. Since the Blue Bayou is so expensive, it means decently large tips.

not always....but it should average out.

Re: Would you work at the Blue Bayou?

I might consider it. But when I was there a few weeks ago waiting, there was this really rude group. They didn't get a reservation ahead of time and apparently there was a mix up.
Someone told them to come back at four for the walk ins, but you don't actually get one, it just depends on if someone else cancels. But these people just kept arguing. Eventually they did get in, but I'm not sure I could deal with that if I worked the front desk.

But it did make me laugh at how many people would come by and ask if they had walk ins.

I was talking to this one gal in there who said they made their reservation like, three weeks or months in advance.
For certain you must be lost to find the places that can't be found. Elseways, everyone would know where it was.

Re: Would you work at the Blue Bayou?

I used to work at the Bayou back in the 80's and unless it's changes, seniority was never required to work there. I enjoyed it very much, but during the slow times of the year I was not getting enough hours, so I quit.

Would I work it, no, but I am not really a food service type of individual. DM is asking the question because a position was offered to him and he is trying to decide if he should take it and therefore work at Disney, or if he should hold out for a location he really wants. Either way that is a tough call.

JYD is only a self-styled martyr--not the real thing like me. To me, any parallels drawn between myself and that dilettante are interpreted as personal attacks, and may be subject to a nuclear response.

This should have been mentioned in the OP--it really makes for a whole different response when the question is merely:
