  • We need a "sticky" rating hotels near Disneyland...

That would be a great idea.

I'm planning a trip on early January, and I have no clue as to which hotel to pick.

I remember that the hotels right next to the park are kinda ugly and unkempt. And there are a couple of hotels 1 mile or less that are OK and have good prices (Marriott?)

I also believe the thread could have tips on how to get better pricing, coupons... etc.

I'll search for my own hotel and add whatever info I can find to this thread...

I agree. I posted This message on the hotels in walking distance. I think that would have made a nice sticky.
When I go to Disneyland, I tune my FRS Radio to channel 2, without a quiet code. They're faster than a cell phone and you can talk to a whole group at a time, and you don't have to get everyone's cell phone number in advance.

Well, something seems to be strange. Every hotel is hideously expensive. The Anaheim Plaza starts at $109. The Rodeway Inn Suites at Priceline goes for $199.

I thought mid-January would be an excellent date to visit!

I noticed a recent jump in a lot of the prices too, but if you are patient, they will more than likely go down. Unless there is a major convention going on during the time you are travelling.

I checked Anaheim Plaza Hotel and the furthest in advance they will let you book is Jan 15 and the rate was as low as $79.

Someday we'll do a general review sticky. But for now, we just want people to continue to review and rate hotels so we have enough data.

We can officially recommend Anabella and HoJo which both offer special MiceChat rates. Just call and ask for the MiceChat special offer.

the high rates in January are because of the NAMM convention which basically comes into Anaheim every January and takes over the Resort area.

lotta money to be made during that time

                Hi Mike!

Just checked their online reservation system, and it's still at $109 at Anaheim Plaza Hotel -- Welcome.

How did you get the $79?

Check sites like Orbitz, Travelocity, and Expedia. But remember, like Browncoat said, that part of January might be a BIG convention week, so rates will be higher no matter where you check.

Re: We need a "sticky" rating hotels near Disneyland...

During the NAMM party last January, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Suites next door to the DL Hotel and got a rate of $68/night thru Priceline. It was a last minute trip for us, and the first time that we stayed there.

Upon checking in, they offered us two comp breakfasts in the restaurant if we signed up for their H-I Priority Rewards "club".

It was free, so we figured what the heck.

It was a good breakfast, too.

                        January 15 to 19, 2009.

Next time, I'll be sure to check with you guys when to travel....

Can I assume the park will be packed those dates, then?

EDIT: I found a Rodeway Inn for $63... on those dates.

                          OK...

I got the Travelodge Anaheim at Disneyland Drive for $69 a night.

I'm not completely sure what to expect. Some opinions say it's ugly, some say it's fine. Some say it's not within walking distance do DL, some say it is. I guess I'll just walk to the parking lot and board the tram.

But hey, I'd rather spend my $$ buying stuff at Disneyland. Let's see how it goes.

For my Honeymoon I'm going with the Ayres hotel anaheim ($140) a night. It's a little drive to Disney, but pretty stylish in appearance... I couldn't pass up the trip advisor ratings on it.

Hoping to raise enough money to go to DL from Pennsylvania with my wife for our 5 year anniversary. (We went there on our honeymoon!)
