  • [Review] Pig N' Whistle (Hollywood) Review

To go along with a night at the theatre last night, we decided to partake in a dinner at one of the classic hollywood eateries, the Pig'n Whistle

We started with getting a $50 gift card on Restaurant.com - Deals on neighborhood restaurants. $25 Restaurant Certificates for only $10! that really was awesome, we had absolutely no problem using it at the restaurant.

Upon arriving for our reservation we were seated at one of the booths. The service was very good and the food, very delicious.

We started off with the "California Nachos" which are basically Nachos, but instead of Tortilla Chips, they are with Won-Ton's. An awesome take, we all very much enjoyed them.

At our table we had Sherpherds Pie, Filet Minon, Cobb Salad and Shrimp Fettucine. I tried all of them except for the salad and they were all very delicious, very well cooked and presented.

For desert we had the Vanilla Creme Brulee and the Pig N' Whistle Sundae. The Creme Brulee was among the best I've had and the Sundae, well, it was a Sundae.

The Decor was, IMO, nothing special, although the ornate looking ceiling was very nice.

For 5 entree's, 2 deserts an appetizer and glass of wine, the total we had to pay (with our Gift Certificate) was $130 (including tip) for a party of 5. Definately worth it.

One thing to remember, if your using a restaurant.com gift certificate, they will automatically add 18% tip based on the original total (which is totally fine IMO). I actually ended up leaving a bit more.

If you are going to be in the Hollywood area, you won't be dissapointed in the Pig N' Whistle. It's a nice place to start an evening before a show, or after a movie at the El Cap or just to eat at while taking in the sights in Hollywood.

Yep, we enjoy the Pig N' Whistle every so often.

Our favorites are the ribs, salmon and the peppercorn steak a close third.

    Bon Apetite!

      sounds tasty .
Hoping to raise enough money to go to DL from Pennsylvania with my wife for our 5 year anniversary. (We went there on our honeymoon!)

If you would like to contribute to the cause for a relatively poor private school teacher. Please private message me. I'd be very thankful.

While the food sounds great, what really got me excited was the restaurant.com website! I'd never heard of this, but really want to try it. Have you used it before the P n W?

i recently bought a pig n whistle gift certificate on it too...
in fact.. the link the poster gave for the site isn't the best one to follow.
I found a link where you get 50% off of any of the certificates you can get for the restaraunts on restaraunt.com.. so instead of paying $10 for a $25 certificate. I paid only $5 for a 25$ certificate..

          follow this link:

Thanks for the review! I live only 15 minutes away so this is good to know. California Nachos sound delicious. It must be fried wontons that's used in the recipe and not the kind you get in a bowl of noodles and soup.

Nice tip! We'll try this place next time we're over there, I've noticed it before and wondered if it was any good.

Re: Pig N' Whistle (Hollywood) Review

We enjoyed another fine meal at the PNW this week. VERY good!

It was just the two of us again (which is a treat). We enjoyed our usuals, the steak and salmon.

Our only complaint was the server, Shavonn. She was never around! Not only did we have to wait to place our order, we had to ask the other server twice for refills. Oh well, she must have had better things to do!

Since we used the restaurant.com coupon ($25 for $2 special!) we were "forced" to give her an 18% tip, but oh well, one poor server experience doesn't ruin our taste for the place. We'll be back.

We skipped dessert and staggered over to the Disney Fountain for ice cream. We had the banana split and the black and white.

                        Good stuff!

As many of the certificate's that I have purchased for the PNW (and other places), none of them have failed to include the info that you have asked for printed right on the front of it.

Spend a second or two reading the rules of the cert and you'll find your answer.

                            Enjoy your lunch!
