  • Car rental question

    Hello,

We're flying into Orange County airport and spending four nights at the Disneyland Hotel next month. We're getting 3-day hoppers for the parks. Our only plan which involves leaving the resort is a day trip to Legoland. Given this, which of these would the veterans of the board recommend?

    (1) Rent a car at the airport (about $125-$150) and leave it at the hotel parking lot except for the airport rides, day trip to Legoland, and have the car available for maybe a Knott's Chicken Dinner trip or something.

    (2) Take a shuttle from the airport ($30 each way), and get a car brought to the hotel from an Anaheim rental agency (Enterprise or a local one) for the day trip, stick to the DL resort the rest of the time.

And if you advise #2, where would you rent from? (Who will reliably deliver a car with child seat to the hotel one morning?)

    Thanks!

    Re: Car rental question

Since parking is included with your resort fee at the Disneyland Hotel, I would rent a car for the entire time. You can go grab a meal nearby and shop at your pleasure.

I like using Hotwire.com, major Rental Companies at a good discount.

      Re: Car rental question

Rent a car for the whole trip. So easy and convenient when you want to nip out for something. I always use priceline.com. Let Shat dial you in. Don't need carseats/boosters anymore but all rentals I've done in the last 10yrs had them available (extra$).
Just countin' the days til the next visit!

Thanks for the advice, which I have already taken.

        (Priceline = $130 for 5 days, mid-size.)

          Re: Car rental question

My family and I just spent a week at Disneyland and we rented a car from the Alamo at Orange County Airport. We did find other Transportation to Disneyland however having a car and with parking included at the DLR its less expensive to eat off Disneyland property. Just don't forget your GPS you can find almost anything you want. There is a Olive Garden down Katella Ave in Garden Grove and many other local restaurants with good food.
