  • Coming from Phoenix

OK, I'm sure this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find the answer. I normally take the 10-60-91-57 route. I was looking at Google and Triple A and they both say that staying on the 10 to the 57 only adds about 7 minutes onto the trip. I was wondering if that is a realistic estimate and a better way to go or should I just stick with my usual route? If it makes a difference, I'll be coming on a Thursday afternoon and heading back on Monday late morning. Thanks.

We like 10 to 57. Fewer interchanges means less stress for us.

If you're arriving during rush hour, do the 10 to 57. I usually take the
10-60-91-57, also, but the 60 and 91 are AWFUL at rush hour.

Just take the 10W and 57 south. There shouldn't be no heavy traffic at all before you arrive here during rush hour of 3pm to 6pm.

I highly recommend arriving outside of rush hour. You will be going the "opposite way," but in that part of SoCal, both ways get Rush Hour. Plan to arrive in Anaheim after 8PM or before 3PM. Unless, of course you like traffic, in which case, never mind.

I'm hoping to arrive around 3. Just gotta make sure and take the time difference into consideration when planning my departure time. Oh and thanks for the advice everyone.

                      Re: Coming from Phoenix

we usually follow the rule of drive in the middle of the night like going across overnight... Sure it makes you tired but if you can have everyone else sleep in the car and then switch off between napping, one person is driving and then the others are sleeping... Oh and 5 hour energy works wonders! We encountered absolutely no traffic on any freeway when we went this last weekend for my Birthday!

But because of storms we opted not to drive 60 as it winds through hills and we were worried about mudslides but our route is typically, 10 all the way across the desert, then 60, then the 91, then Disney by street once we get close enough to hit one of the major routes like Ball, Katella, or anything else... But if we want to stop in Calimesa on the way back for Bobs Big Boy we usually go the route of taking the 91 to the 15 and cutting up to the 10... but our route usually assures we hit Cabazon and we always try and stop at Cabazon on the way back for either Morongo Casino, Outlet Shopping, Hadleys, or A&W or Ruby's
Add me... I dont bite LOL!

Morongo Casino is awesome... the good thing is that as long as everyone is 18 they could gamble there... and the table limits are not usually too bad there for Blackjack which is awesome as I love Blackjack and can get kinda evil with it... But I will say their .02 cent slots are evil... the max bet on those things can exceed quite a bit! But they are nice for a short little stop to rest some feet and gamble for a bit.

Although aside from the Casino we didnt hit that this time as we had kids with us and instead we hit Hadleys... I so picked up this awesome thing at Haldeys on the last trip! I dont know whether I should save it or not for the opportune moment! Its hard candy with a real and edible scorpion inside! BTW, for anyone who has not yet tried eating a scorpion, they are pretty tasty and kinda otherworldy! I highly recommend it for the taboo and gross out factor
