  • Need help on DLR Hotel refurb status

We're planning a trip to the DLR in the window between May 16th and 23rd.
I've got the Fairfield booked for the whole time, but wouldn't mind switching over to the DLH or the GCH for a few nights as a treat for our daughter.

    1) I think I remember reading that one of the pools at the GCH is out of that still true?
    2) Which tower in the DLH is under re-construction?
    3) Is the DLH construction causing any impacts to guests in the other towers?
    4) The room at the Fairfield is "resort view"...does anyone know if that gives you a good view of the fireworks? Looking at the aerial photos on Bing and Google it looks like the view is more towards DCA...

Well...from what I know in regards to the DLH currently remodeling is being done on the dreams tower and will be complete in June. The other towers will be done after that one at a time. From what I understand it does not effective the guest in the other towers. The only thing is that a conceirge level room might be impacted since those rooms are normally in the dreams tower.I wish I could be of more help but that is all I know at the moment. Have a great trip!

Re: Need help on DLR Hotel refurb status

We were just at the DLH from 3/24-3/26/10 and were not bothered by the construction at all. We stayed in the Wonder Tower facing the Dreams Tower and heard no noise.

We almost stayed at the GC, so I called in March to see if the pool was open and they said it was. When we walked by on our way to dinner at Storytellers, the pool and slide appeared to be open.

Have never stayed at the Fairfield, but I have stayed at a Disney view room at the HoJo across the street and we could see some of the fireworks.

Hope that helps. Have a fab trip!
