I guess it depends what your definition of cheap is. There are some really good places where you can get meals for less than ten dollars. Rancho Del Zocalo is great. Smaps and I always look forward to eating there. If it's not too hot outside the gumbo/clam chowder outside of pirates of the carribean is good too. We also like to eat at pizza planet.

The chimichanga and turkey leg carts are really good. The turkey leg is like 6 dollars and enough to feed 2 people.

There are also fast food places outside the park gates like subway and McDonalds.

I recommend the Royal Street Veranda. It's the little window that is between the Pirates entrance and Port Royal gift shop. They have great soup served in bread bowls for reasonable prices. If there isn't seating available, we sometimes take it over to the River Belle Terrace porch and enjoy the sights of the ROA while eating. Very relaxing and pleasant!

I agree with the above posts. I think the bread-bowls are one of the best bargains in the whole resort.

When we're looking to eat cheaply we usually go to the Stage Door cafe to the right of the Golden Horseshoe. They have corn dogs and hamburgers and I've always thought they had good prices.

I get the kids pasta meal at Plaza Inn. Comes with pasta and your choice of sauce, breadstick, apples, carrots, and a mini drink. Less than $7 and very filling (for me, anyways).

Cheap at Disneyland....OXYMORON! Sorry, gut reaction.... I agree that the bread bowls are a great deal. Particularly if you eat the bowl ( I don't) Are you going by yourself or with someone else? There are a couple meals at restaurants that even with the plate splitting fee end up being very filling and not overly expensive. Depends on how cheap you need it to be though.

The cheapest way to do it is to eat off property. We usually eat breakfast at Mimi's or Coco's eat lunch at the park and catch Dinner on the way home outside the park. If you pack snacks and/or water you'll save huge. That's some of the biggest expense right there. If you follow our plan you'll usually only buy one meal, a drink and maybe one snack(churros...yummy) during a whole day in the park.

I survived my first Marathon. Got my Mickey at WDW after 6:22:08 of "fun" on the course. Not happy with the time, so I will go back and be getting Goofy next year!

The cheapest thing I ate at Disneyland was an apple from a snack cart, lol!

If you're hitting both parks, the Festival Marketplace in Hollywood Backlot at DCA has some samplers for the Food and Wine Festival. They are smaller sizes, but cheaper (and better) than most food at DLR.

The loaded baked potatoes at Troubadour Tavern are a pretty good deal. They're quite filling (and delicious!) for $6, and they're enough for two. Troubadour Tavern is located to the left of Princess Fantasy Faire.

Agreed. I split this with my friend and we are both full enough to the point where we usually skip dinner since we are still full from the potato.

I recommend just getting kid's meals in general. I think I actually learned that from Plaza Inn haha. But yeah, I found it interesting that in most places, the regular meal will have one thing (pasta, burrito, salad, sandwich, etc.) and a drink, while the kid's meals are cheaper and come with the main dish, a side, fruit/veggies, and a drink. Another place that does this that I love is (I forget the name) the place by the Haunted Mansion.
