It's clean but this place made me wonder why it hadn't had a big remodel. It just needed work in some public areas and the room needed updated furnishings.

I hope the deal is good, without one I would probably stay elsewhere.

You may have to pay for parking if you have a car. It's a long walk to the parks, not a block away. You can walk across the street into the Toy Story Parking lot and take there shuttles to the parks, this takes about 10 minutes. You ccould also take ART.

      Re: Clarion Hotel?

I was considering this myself for Fall 2012. However, I would only stay here if the walk to TS lot was rather short. I looked on a map (google satalite), but I cannot tell where the bus pick up is for this lot. If it is at the round-a-bout, well that is close, but if I have to hike up towards Katella across the lot, that is not very short. I see two lots in this area.

Also, is there a walkway to the lot? ...from the Clarion once you cross Harbor Blvd. Once again, it is not clear on google maps; I see a roadway for cars going east/west, but I am not sure if it is ped. friendly.

      Thx for any info!

The Toy Story lot shuttles pick up in the round about. The lot to the North is the Katella Cast Member Parking lot.

From the Clarion just cross Harbor and Convention Way, so you enter the Toy Story lot on the north side. There is a sidewalk on that north side of the entrance/exit road to the shuttle pick up.

The Clarion is also serviced by the ART shuttles, but those are not free. I'm not sure if its that much farther to the Toy Story parking lot than to where the ART shuttles pick up. (I've only used the ART shuttles from that area while at the convention center, not any of the hotels.)

Funny you should mention this b/c I just looked into the ART system online a few days ago - this is a new thing for our group. I noticed that the ART bus picks up at Clairion but continues southward in its standard route. This coupled with the fact they run only every 20-25 min (when on time) make the trip from the hotel to the DLR drop off up to 45-50min long.

I am hoping that if I do stay at Clairion, I can just go over to TS lot and be at the park in 20min or less - for free!

This is a +1 for Clairion so far... still waiting to book since I have to wait for Disney to release the H'ween event tickets and the dates.

We are staying there early Aug with a 2.5 year old so any tips and tricks are appreciated!
This is the furthest we have stayed from the entrance to DL so I anticipate our legs to be very tired!

This will help save you legs. Remember your child has to be out of the stroller to get on the shuttles.

We can take him out of the stroller for the shuttle but do we have to fold up the stroller to get on?? Our stoller is a bit of a pain to fold and unfold on the fly!
