I have been looking around and I am seeing on the hotels website they have pre-pay rates that are...well...almost too good to be true. Like 68.00 a night for a suite, 10 min walk from the main gates. Is this hotel a complete dump? ? The pixs make it look AHHHH-MAZE-ING!!!!

Re: Peacock Suites
We stayed there on the last several trips we've taken. The hotel is actually pretty nice. The room we stayed in was remodeled during the last year as they replaced all flooring, furniture, fixtures, etc plus they added kitchen sinks. Roman shaded on the windows and frosted glass for the divider between the 2 room sections. The hotel has valet parking (the guys are quick at getting your car). They also have a pool with 2 jacuzzi. They also converted a part of the parking area by the elevators into a little picnic type area. Hotel offers continental breakfast (bread, pastry, cereal). There's usually a free activity each day like coloring pages for the kids or root beer floats. I wouldn't recommend walking to the park. It's actually kind of far. There's an ART shuttle stop right in front and there's a machine that sells shuttle passes outside the hotel lobby. If you're planning a trip and have multiple adults, consider driving and parking at Mickey and Friends if the $15 parking fee is less than the cost of shuttle passes for your group. In the summer, the standard rate is $149/night, so I'm guessing you're looking at a rate that is at the end or after the summer season.

Re: Peacock Suites
Thank you for the input. I am glad you mentioned the walk, I am going with my 70 year old, father, hubby and 2 year old son. So a LONG walk before walking all day isn't what I was looking for.
It under special offers on their site, they call it the Advance Purchase Special, last week was 52.00...maybe just to fill up the rooms.

Re: Peacock Suites
If you do decide on a hotel farther away and need to use the ART services, I recommend going to GetAwayToday.com to get the ART tickets. They have the best prices...Usually 5-days for the price of 3, and kids passes are free with a paying adult pass. Our family got 2 adult and 2 children for 5 day tickets for $20 total.

Re: Peacock Suites
I think I am just going to book this hotel, with the extras for kids and breakfast. It really sounds perfect! If you have a timeshare with Shell and ever plan on Hawaii, we have stayed at the Illika twice and loved both times. It isn't updated at ALL (think Golden Girls tv show) but VERY VERY VERY clean and HUGE rooms RIGHT on the beach

Re: Peacock Suites
Hello my fellow MiceChat members! After months of reading forums, I decided to join today to add my .02 about Peacock Inn and Suites. DH and I were gifted with airfare to LAX in May, and since we weren't bringing the kids, we had a few more options for our hotel. This was our second trip to DL. We spent an entire day looking and decided we wanted something a bit further back off the beaten track. We(ok I had! DH would have slept in a tent!) had prerequisities that we wanted: free breakfast, in room safe, refridgerator for no charge, free wifi, pool, separate sitting area and a King sized bed.We found a few places, called and went hmmm maybe not. DH called The Peacock and said: this is the best customer service I have recieved and booked via Expedia. We got there, and check in was awesome. DH recognized the voice of the person (Karan) who answered his questions, and he remembered talking to DH! Too cool! We chatted to him a bit, and then went up to our room. We were very happy with it. For a couple, it was a great size. King size bed, separate sitting room. I wouldn't get that room for my family though. I would look at a suite. The coffee in the breakfast room was delicious! The ART stop was right outside the hotel. We originally had booked 3 nights there, but decided to stay for one extra day. We had no problem changing the room, and got a great rate(Thanks to Mike!) The service we recieved was top notch and I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff at the check in counter were exceptional Karan, Mike thank you for making our stay a memorable one that we will never forget. Can't wait till our next trip there!

Re: Peacock Suites
My parents have a Shell timeshare and for this reason they stay here when they travel to So Cal. I've seen it before and after the remodel, and it went from clean but dated up to GREAT! I would consider it all small "suites" since it is clearly two distinct rooms, the room with couch having an upgraded kitchenette. My parents love the service there, especially the valets. My mom loves the small covered pool and hot tub area. I took a nap on the bed there once and found the mattress to be unusually firm, but other than that, I am impressed and I know they love staying there. (I certainly can't convince them to stay with me in my living room!)
