I don't think the parking in the back is too far.. For me, it's a matter of safety. There isn't much exposure back there and I don't care for the way you walk around the back and sides of the hotel to get to the lobby. One could always walk the other way and enter in the front, I guess. I also noticed signs posted that read "Lock It, Take It, Hide It". I've stayed there multiple times in the past and never saw those before. I even commented on them to my hubby and that was before I learned of the murder from a co-worker.

For the first time, I am going to book a room through Priceline that includes a Saturday night (we will need Saturday through Monday night).

Will that change how much I need to bid?

It really depends more on how busy a weekend you are going. I would review the rates that have been accepted at http://biddingfortravel.yuku.com/for...ge-County.html

I got the Crowne Plaza for $55/night for 11/21 - 11/23. I already made sure I got 2 beds instead of one and was upgraded to the executive level, so that means I get a regular fridge for free. Yeah!

The customer service is so good there.

In the past month, priceline has separated Disneyland into two areas, Anaheim and Garden Grove. Additionally, the Hyatt on Harbor in Garden Grove has been upgraded to 4 stars.

This doesn't necessarily change the way a person bids for a 3 and a half star in Anaheim or Garden Grove, but it does give you an extra bid.

That said, I recently got Anaheim Marriott Suites from December 11th - 14th for $44 a night plus tax.

                      Bring on the holidays!

Will you do me a huge favor and post a review with maybe some pictures of this new hotel? I'm hoping one of these trips I will win it.

I was just there 10 days ago for 6 days. We love that hotel and won it on Priceline for $46 a night! (A steal for a 2 room suite with a fridge!) Wish I'd known you wanted photos, I'd have taken some. Hopefully my buddy DisneyBanks can get some for you! It's a nice place. We had no car, so we didn't pay the daily parking which is $12.00 a day. I found choosing the Garden Grove area was best to ensure Crowne Plaza, Marriott Suites or Hyatt.

The beds are SUPER cozy and the linens are crisp and white. The room was very clean and the living room was a fair size. There are 2 televisions, and, while I'm a night owl...hubby isn't, so, he'd fall asleep in the bedroom and I'd hang out in the living room and watch t.v.

Anyone know which other hotels (besides Embassy Suites and the above mentioned Anaheim Marriott Suites) offer suites as a standard deal? I'd love to have a separate space from my dad during our upcoming trip.

I got the Anaheim Mariott Suites for December 12th for $45 and the DoubleTree (by the block) for $50 on New Years Eve!!!

We have NEVER gotten a hotel for NYE that cheap.

Back to the Crowne Plaza for us - not my favorite due to the parking situation. Just booked 12/28-1/2 for $59/night. Started at $38 and incremented $1 at a time using rebids. Went up to $64 on the 4* (guaranteed Hyatt) with no luck and turned back to the 3.5*'s. Would have gone back to the 4*'s a little higher if $60 didn't do it on the 3.5*'s.

Geez, that's the highest I've ever paid for the DLR area, I'm sure having to do with the NY week crowds. I know it's still a cheap room, but I've gotten spoiled getting the Crowne Plaza, Marriott Suites, Doubletree and Hilton all for under $50 this past year!

^ For NYE that's actually REALLY good. We have paid over $100 before for NYE.

On Priceline? Ouch. Like I said, I've really gotten spoiled.

This is our first time to DLR during the Christmas/NY holiday. Oh gosh, there's so much to pack for this trip tomorrow when you've got two little ones in tow... Guess I better stop stalling.

Happy New Years all! I'm sure I'll see some of you this week!
