Right Across from the gate on Harbor. Next to Denny's.

Cheap and cheerful. Clean and Quiet.

    Re: The Desert inn

I have stayed here numerous times and I love the location and the rooms are nice, but it has thin walls so I can hear everything and I have been kept up all night on more than one occasion. I still happily stay there all the time since it's directly across the street from the park though. In the end, I voted I liked it.

      Re: The Desert inn

I got put in an updated handicapped accessible room, but walking by other rooms that were being cleaned, I saw stained carpets and dirt/dust build-up on all the door and window trims. My phone didn't work the entire time we were there.

The pool is small and icky. The continental breakfast was disgusting--tiny apples, green oranges, and thin bread with cheap jelly.

But I only paid $44 a night. So I figured I definitely got what I paid for.

I stayed at the Desert Inn for 6 nights back in September. Overall, the hotel is pretty decent for a budget hotel. I had jet lag on my first night and fell asleep at around 8 pm. I kept on getting woken up by the sounds of kids running up and down the hall. During the night, the hotel is pretty quiet though. The free breakfast wasn't anything to write home about. They had toast, jam, and pastries. There were plenty of restaurants in walking distance, though.

At the crosswalk, there was a person hawking timeshares. I had to sneak past this person more than once.

For $59/night, it was pretty nice. There are definitely nicer places in the vicinity, but if you want a decent, cheap place, the Desert Inn fit the bill OK.

          Re: The Desert inn

I voted Loved It, but maybe I need to clarify. I loved it in the category of the price I paid for it. For me a hotel is just a place to sleep. And this happened to be right across the street from the parks. But you get what you pay for. I recommend it.
