On Orangethorpe (go north on Harbor from Disneyland and take a right onto Orangethorpe) is a restaurant called MAS' ISLAMIC CHINESE.
It's incredibly good. Chinese owned and operated, they cater to the Islamic community so the dishes are prepared with a higher level of care. I went there last night actually and it's definitely a few notches above the norm.
Wow...well there's Japanese food at Benihana on Ball Road and State College....and I think a PF Changs is slated for the Gardenwalk.....I could be wrong on that......but other than that, I am at a loss. Sorry I couldn't be of more help in regard.
When I go to Disneyland, I tune my FRS Radio to channel 2, without a quiet code. They're faster than a cell phone and you can talk to a whole group at a time, and you don't have to get everyone's cell phone number in advance.
you know? thats what downtown disney here in california needs. a chinese food restaurant. where would they put it though??
The Pacific Wharf in DCA. Oh snap.
I think the Paradise Pier hotel can or should go through a major reconstruction to include more restaurants and entertainment. I miss knowing that things like the Neon Cactus were around... even if I was too young at the time. There seems to be no nighttime entertainment for grown ups anymore.
If the OP has access to a car, they might want to check out the Garden Grove-Westminster area, not all that far from the DLR - especially the section known as Little Saigon. I was in the area just last weekend, and noticed several Vietnamese, Korean and Chinese restaurants, many of which offered dim sum.
I can't recommend a place because I haven't tried them but it might be worth checking out.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
I'll also recommend Ma's Islamic Chinese restaurant. Their scallion pancakes are excellent. It has very good service, is clean (including the bathroom), is comfortable, nicely decorated with a fountain in the lobby and has superb food.
