  • President's Day Weekend 2020?

I'm looking at an early 2020 trip - crowd calendars all look bad-adjacent for President's Day.

On the other hand, some of the annual passes are blocked out for the holiday - is that still having a major effect on crowds these days?

It's been a few years since I've been to the DLR and would really appreciate some advice from folks.

Attendance has been so erratic this summer that there isn't a good way to make an accurate prediction anymore. That said, I would say, no, the APs being blocked won't have a huge impact on the holiday weekends. Expect maximum crowds, or close to it. If it's been a few years since you were there, you might be shocked at how crowded it will be, in fact. If you can plan to come on a non-holiday weekend, or better yet during the middle of the week, you'll be much better off. If that's not an option, get into the park early if you can, then leave as it gets more crowded during the day, then come back after the parades and try to stay until closing. Even on busy weekends, things are much easier to navigate in the last 60-90 minutes before park closing, especially on the nights they stay open until midnight. Then after the closing announcement when they tell you Main St. will stay open for an additional hour, get a hot cocoa from the Carnation Corner and find a seat to watch people stream out of the park for the next 45 minutes or so. You'll exit down a deserted Main St. and you'll realize how noisy the park is during the day and how quiet it is (and how loud the music is!) with everybody gone.
