  • Days Inn & Suites

Hi. I was added something to a hotel description in my lists today and out of the corner of my eye saw 'free shuttle' typed by the Days in on harbor and Ball. When I first made the list I didn't realize how much of a bonus this is. It also has everything we need-- a fridge, microwave, jacuzzi, and continental breakfast. It's also seemingly pretty cheap-- not sure for my dates because it is still too far in advance to check, but I'm guessing I'll be able to wrangle a $65 or less rate if I call. (We're doing spring break next year which is the last full week of March, with Easter being on April 12th) It is also close enough to walk to the parking structure as an option for their shuttle (if it's too long to wait or something) as we are 2 adults with a teen boy. Have read everything available online for it-- just wondering if anyone on the forums has an opinion. Thanks. We're not picky btw, we don't care if there's peeling paint, room key problems etc.
*Sorry I had this confused with the Days Inn on Ball & Disneyland Drive. That one doesn't have a shuttle service. I have read in reviews though that you could feasibly walk-- like if you miss the last shuttle or something like that. I still think this is just a gem- haven't called on it yet though. Waiting I think to see what online rates are like-- right now it's too far out.

I have never stayed there before, but I am going to next weekend. The online rate I booked was $77 a night for two double beds. It's a Friday and Saturday night. I read some reviews that were a little sketchy over the net, but I'm hoping all will go well. I will def. post a review when I get back though.

We stay at the Days Inn & Suites (ball & harbor) when the hotels accross harbor get to be too expensive. It is comparable to most of the hotels accross the street & has a free breakfast with a variety of cereals, breads, & fruit. We have never used the shuttle.

I really enjoyed the Days Inn. I'll just list the negatives to save time, since everything else was great.

        1. Transportation is a little tough. The hotel has a private shuttle, but it only runs once an hour, so it can be tough schedule around. We only went into the park one day, and we just took OC Transit (which cost $1.25) because it came before the ART and we had just missed a shuttle. You could walk if you had older kids and a lot of motivation, but there are some very busy streets to cross. I caution this because over the summer my uncle was hit by a car walking back to the Hotel Menage. He was fine except for a badly broken leg, but traffic can be crazy, so you have to be very careful.

        2. This is a minor annoyance, but the showers are not made for tall people. My recent trip was with my best friend. I am 5'8, and she is 5'11, and after we showered we both agreed that we had to do the limbo just to get our heads under the water. This could be a big problem for anyone over 6'0, because you can only adjust the sprayer so high.

This hotel worked out great for us because it wasn't only a Disneyland trip, so we only had to deal with the hassle of taking the bus to the park one day. The other two days of our trip we were driving around Orange County (college exploration mission), so it was very convenient to be at a hotel so close to I5.

I would definitely recommend this hotel though.

We just stayed there. The room was nice and the private shuttle was wonderful, since last time we stayed at a place that used the ART and it seemed to take about 40 minutes to go around to all the different hotels. This shuttle went directly to the parks.

My only complaint was the wireless internet service, which was slo-o-o-o-o-o-o-w.
