  • November 13, 2008: The Festival of the Masters

Last Sunday, I went to the final day of this year's Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney, Walt Disney World.

I was impressed with event. Here are my comments and a bunch of photos:

Thank you. The LEGO Imagination Center at Downtown Disney has asked our club, GFLUG (or Greater Florida LEGO User Group), to display our "artwork" at Festival of the Masters for the last 6 years now. Every year, we have a theme that we build to, this year it was "Transportation: Past, Present, & Beyond." Next year, it'll be "Icons & Legends".

To give you a little background, some of our club members (including myself) are Disney fans. Our club recreated a part of the Magic Kingdom in LEGO back in October for the Florida NFFC Convention. Robin's Disney World train station fit nicely into this year's FotM theme... I had been working on the Disney Magic since January of 2008 & finished it the Thursday before FotM; I wasn't able to complete it for the NFFC show.

Over on Flickr, we've started a Festival of the Masters 2008 group. You're welcome to view more pictures of the event there & more pictures of our LEGO creations. And if you were at FotM, took pictures of FotM & have a Flickr account, please share your pictures with us and the group.
