  • August 1956

I recently scanned these slides from my family's collection. These were taken on August 27, 1956, on my sister's 10th birthday. The family lived in Santa Ana so my Dad took my sister and her friends to Disneyland. (I wasn't born yet and wouldn't make my first trip there until 1964.) My sister is the one seen stepping off the Astro Jets, with the short blond hair and light blue dress.

Thank you for posting!! Fascinating how there was a lot less foliage and gates, and a lot more concrete!

              Oh wow, I love those!
              Good morning, son
              In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
              It was pain
              Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Fabulously awesome! The color saturation and clarity is amazing, esp. given their age.
