Paris has the Eiffel Tower. Seattle has the Space Needle. And Clermont, Florida has the Citrus Tower. Sure, the Citrus Tower is less famous than the other two—but it’s also much less crowded.

Very nice article.
In my opinion, the US needs to get stricter on what is allowed to be built considering our naturalistic landscape is getting smaller and smaller. Natural land needs to be preserved and anything that does get built should have high aesthetic value.
So upset to see the groves replaced by a Friendly's.

Nice article! I love your "now and then" pieces. I have never been to the tower (nor had heard of it till reading this piece.) Amazing to see such striking changes in 20 years. Florida sure has grown.
