  • Yesterland From the Beginning!

    Hello all!

I've been following Yesterland from it's inception! I'm so glad to see it finally expand!

How long have some of you been watching this great site?

I'm a huge Disneyland fan and have a nice collection of park related items and history. When I first entered the web in 1997, one of the first sites that bonded me to other Disneyland historians was Yesterland. It was so well done and the imagery was superb!

A lot has changed in the time since this site's beginnings and I wanted to publicly thank Werner for his great work over the years.

I now have a blog of Disney-park related stuff and hope to accent the great work by Yesterland. Please stop by after viewing Yesterland!

Werner, if you should ever need anything from me, please let me know!

Please remain seated...Motion is about to begin!!!!!

Up until August, I really would never have cared. I hadn't been to DL since August of 1999, back when the internet was new to me and I had NO idea that such a site actually existed. Back then, I don't think I would have known how to navigate it either. So, I found the site on a Yahoo search about two months ago and I find myself using my cell phone to check on it during a lull, while I'm out of the house. It's that fun to look through.

Also, I'm kind of a Disneyland "purist" of sorts. Even though I was born in the late 1970s, and my first trip to the park was in 1981, I still believe in Disneyland the way 1955 saw it. I'm not saying that it's wrong to change it. On the contrary. If that happened the park would be boring and drab and would go against everything Walt wanted for it. However, it would have been nice to have seen some of the things that are featured on www.yesterland.com .

Werner has put together a virtual museum for all of us and he's done it in such a way that we don't have to get tired feet looking at all of the wonderful places that used to be. The best part about it is the fact that we can look at all of it, everyday, for free. Werner has forty-nine, almost FIFTY years of memories at the park, where I've just past the twenty-five year mark and there's no way for me to catch up with him. He's got all the information I need to know about a place I love so dearly. For instance, when I'm standing at King Triton's whatever it's called, I can say that the House of Tomorrow used to stand there and generate an interested reaction from someone who doesn't know that. Being on this site is almost (if not equally) as fun as being at Disneyland.

    KEEP IT UP, WERNER!!!!
(I mean the pace AND the site!)
