  • Disney Afternoon Avenue!

I know there is an older thread in this forum about it, but that was over six months ago, and I'm sure there are new answers. Ok. So. I grew up during the Disney Afternoon Era (back in the day when the Disney Channel was amazing!), and I vaguely remember little bits of the Disney Afternoon Avenue, near what is now Mickey's Toontown. I know that they changed the Motor Boat Cruise to the Gummi Bear Glen Cruise, and I know that they made Fantasyland Autopia the Rescue Ranger Raceway. Now, does anyone have any photos of this whole area? I already looked at the photos that were posted on the old thread, so I want photos from you! I would love to see some Gummi Bears photos (that was my favorite show when I was a toddler) and I would love to see the Motor Boat Cruise with all the Gummis in it. Or if anyone has any videos or just random photos of anything from the Disney Afternoon Avenue or the Disney Afternoon Live! Show, that would be great. I am trying to find things that I loved when I was little. For example, I just bought Gummi Bears Seasons 1-3 on DVD. It brought back so many amazing memories of watching the show when I was 2 -3 years old back in 1990-1991...

Wow, I typed a lot there!

Oh, and I also know about the Yesterland section of Disney Afternoon Avenue.

I just want to see if anyone has any great old photos of this!

    Thanks a lot!

    Re: Disney Afternoon Avenue!

After perusing YouTube, I found these clips of Disneyland when it had the good TDA (The Disney Afternoon).

While the opening sequence had an image of the castle, I always found it interesting that while TDA started airing in 1990 with the debut of Tail Spin, Darkwing Duck appeared in the block's opener, even though he would officially debut on TDA the following season.

The first of many great shows to grace modern day Fantasyland in Videopolis and Fantasyland Theatre (Plane Crazy, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, Snow White Musical)

There was also a WDW show. If you visit the YouTube pages of those videos, you'll find links for the WDW show.
