  • July 20, 2007: Disney Hotels at which You Haven't Stayed

I hope you enjoy the article. I had fun putting it together. Okay. This isn't a typical Yesterland article. It's not even a typical "Side Trip from Yesterland."

It's really about the details that Imagineers insert into Disney theme parks, and how such details trigger guests' imaginations.

    Please discuss the article here.

You forgot the new Hollywood Hotel at Disneyland Resort Paris in the Walt Disney Studios.

I mentioned it (and the Hotel Hightower in Tokyo) under the Hollywood Tower Hotel at California Adventure.

Good point! Thank you. I'll update the article with a picture of the Main Street Hotel later today or this weekend.

Ha! That was fun! Maybe you can do Disney gas stations next?

Very clever article Werner. I would never have thought of doing something like this.

Wait, I think you just hit upon another fantastic idea... make a "special" room available, in each of these hotels, for YOAMD!

                    Very clever article, BTW.

I just added the Main Street Hotel.

                      Thank you for the suggestion!

When DL first opened, the building near the hub across from the Coke Corner that used to be the welcome center and now is where they sell the photopass photos (talk about a convoluted description) was originally labelled as the plaza apartments. Another yesterland hotel to add to the list.

                          I like that idea!

I'm having some trouble coming up with enough Disney "fake" gas stations. Offhand, I can think of three:
                          • Goofy's gas station in ToonTown at Disneyland
                          • The service station inside the entrance at Disney-MGM Studios
                          • Castaway Gas on Disney Cruise Lines' Castaway Cay

To anyone reading this thread: What other ones are there? What am I missing?

                            Splendid article, as always.
Gas stations, not enough, but whatabout signs? You know, clever little signs, maybe with ones that have the play on words (like in WDW's TL, "Sleepless Knights") or gags, but you could probably fill a series of books with all of the imagnative things that Disney cooks up.
