  • Trip Report! August 21st!

Attended a Rehearsal day (August 21st) at the Hong Kong Disneyland. The park itself is identical to Disneyland except for all the missing elements.(RIDES) The park was open from 10:00am to 8:00pm on that day. My buddy who lives in HK got the Comp. Tickets because his company did the flooring for Winnie the Pooh and several kitchens in the park. (Not sure if general public could purchase tickets) Also on Rehearsal day we received 30% discount on all food purchases!
    General information:
*Parking will run you ($120.00-HK Dollars) ($15.00 US)
*Food was actually fairly cheap considering it's Disneyland.
(Average cost: $40.00-HK Dollars $5.00U.S) + free hot
    water+tea bag
    *Park Rehearsal days: August: 28,29,30,31
    September: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,
(Some days were blocked out using our tickets)

*Average wait for majority of rides was less than 20 minutes
    * Longest wait was for Winnie the Pooh. (45 minutes)
*Space Mountain wait time was (10 minutes)
Fast pass machines are right next to the stand by line so when we were in line, you could lean over and insert your ticket for a pass if you wanted to ride it again. (I did) Space same track layout as Disneyland. They don't have the blue spinning part like Disneyland though.

Will be posting my pictures of my trip ASAP. Question for Ofoto users? Using ofoto how can I enter a link so you can view them without signing in??? Thanks. I would hate for everyone to have to sign in.

ORDDU: Thank you for your nice report, duckling! My sisters and I had to laugh hysterically, though, at one of your comments--the one about how the park is identical to Disneyland--except for the missing elements--rides!!!

ORWEN: We look forward to your pictures!!

ORGOCH: See any frogs over there? Didn't say a WORD 'bout them, ya know!!

Does the castle have the old paint job of the one in CA, or does it have the recent 50th paint scheme?

What the frig - the 50th 'paint scheme' is just a re-paint of sun-dated colour. The castle is coloured the way it should be, but Pressler let painting slip.

Actually speedway, the castle at DLR did get a slightly different apint scheme which was brighter and had more gold accents. The original paint scheme was meant to be pale, it was still in bad shape but the original colour when they switched from grey and blue was a pale pink. The HKDL castle is the original pink colour, not they 50th one, to answer Disneylandrocks55's question.

ORDDU: My sisters and I truly enjoyed your photographs, snappy duckling! Thank you for sharing them. We're just sorry that it was such a rainy day for you. But--although there isn't as much to do there, yet, we think the park looks very nice.
