    I found this line interesting:

Details about rides are still being worked out, but there are to be a smattering of classic attractions and new rides developed specifically for Shanghai, perhaps incorporating Chinese stories and history.
It sounds like there will be multiple original attractions! That's great. Although I hope the total attraction count is more of a "plethora" than a "smattering."

Great to finally have confirmation. Now that it's official, Micechat should get a separate Shanghai section, so that HKDL can reclaim the HK section.

    Now Disney...how about some artwork?

Fair enough, I posted that before reading the article.

Your correct that the mainstream media that doesn't typically deal with Theme Parks very often wouldn't understand the distinction, but the context in which that number is presented isn't very ambiguous.

The agreement for a Shanghai Disneyland is a landmark deal that carries enormous cultural and financial implications. Analysts estimate the initial park — not including hotels and resort infrastructure — will cost $3.5 billion, making it oneof the largest-ever foreign investments in China

3.5 Billion is far from being a final number and is certainly subject to budget cuts, but it appears as far as the article goes, that this is solely on the theme park. That much seems to be clear.

3.5 Billion for just the park itself is a good sign. It's great to finally have it approved. But now can we give Shanghai its own section on Micechat so we don't have to keep saturating the Hong Kong forum with news?
