  • Video New HKDL expansion video

The new Walt Disney Company 2009 Annual Report gives us a look back at how the parks have been performing, but also gives us a glimpse into the future of attractions at parks around the world. We all know what will be happening at HKDL, but now we have some video to show you from the same report!

The HKDL Source : New video on HKDL expansion

    Enjoy!

Interesting....is that a Sinbad AA at :52? Hint for more to come, or stock footage? Or, is this something else that in the quick shot, I misinterpreted?

looks all good. Even the less liked toy story land looks very emmersive in that model

^^^ About that Slinky Dog ride model...will most people be sitting in the dark, under the springs, without a view?...perhaps that's not the case but if so, that doesn't sound like much fun, even for a spinner ride...

Not to be too much of a grouch, but Mystic Manor still seems to be the only addition with any "wow" factor to it. The park needs a couple more rides of that calibre, and needs them sooner rather than later. I hope at least one more gets built before the end of the decade...

I thought I saw this too! The only thing I could guess is maybe it's an artifact in MM?

Also, I LOVE the smoke-cannon effect! MM looks so promising!

And fnally, I really don't get the slinky dog ride. What's the point of it?

The Slinky Dog ride looks like an Amor Express with a retractable cover/roof.

Linked is a video of one at Tivoli. . .

ORDDU: Even more interesting than the updated video is the fact that our dear Loomis has returned to us. Do you realize how much you've been missed, duckling? My sisters and I had just about given up on you. Then we performed one of our location spells and realized you needed some time to yourself. We hope you're doing much better and that you realize how much you are loved.

this one also seems to have a cover. It might actually be fun unless they run the thing on a really slow speed.

I think they have one of those rides (Slinky) at Idlewild in Pennsylvania. It's a very old-style flat ride and the cover comes over and retracts while you're riding it, I'm pretty sure.

I agree with yoyoflamingo, I did notice the Sinbad animatronic.

(I've never visited Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Resort Paris, nor Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, so don't be fooled when I pretend to know what I'm talking about. [But I'm pretty good with the information, if I do say so myself. And you can hit me all you want with Walt Disney World.])

The smoke canon segment is actually just a clip of Tokyo DisneySea's Indiana Jones.

Many thanks, Orddu (and to your sisters as well). Really pleased to see how many people had missed the site, and how little effort it takes to pick it up again! I guess a trip to Tokyo Disneyland (or two) will get one back in the mood for Disneyfied activity! Plus, there were so many friendly folk to return to here on the forum (we seem to be missing a couple of regulars though)!

Exactly what I was thinking, ICe. It's a great effect and will look grand in any project.

I gotta agree with Baloo. That Toy Story Land actually looks very immersive and well done. Almost like Bugs Land, but upped 100%. Mystic Manor looks fantastic and the runaway train ride looks like it could be fun as well. Thanks for sharing.

Blimey you've got sharp eyes! Blink and you miss it.

I think it might be stock footage as just before that there's a guy working on a model of a Steam Donkey from Expedition:Everest (which could also be a stock clip).... but that could very well be the same model of train they're going to use in Grizzly.
