  • [Fun] HKDL - Fantasy Build-out

Did another one of these for fun:

Tomorrowland The obvious choice for the new show building I've placed opposite Autopia is Star Tours 2.0.: (i)it fits the spaceport theme of the land; (ii)isn't greatly expensive; (iii) the park has no simulators; (iv) the expansion pad isn't quite large enough for much else.

Personally, I am apprehensive about Star Tours 2.0, and would rather see an original attraction in this space - maybe a sci-fi version of Tower of Terror (go vertical on the small footprint).

Fantasyland Moving northwest from the Small World Plaza, the land becomes more wooded/rural (like future MK's). A small stream runs through the land. The lagoon (and DCA amphitheater-style walkways) are to exhibit an original version of Fantasmic!. The building near the lagoon is a version of Voyage of the Little Mermaid with the MK facade. Between Mermaid and IASW there are buildings for an original dark ride - Rapunzel, Beauty & Beast, Robin Hood, etc., take your pick - and a table-service restaurant.

Adventureland Something I find problematic with the current expansion is that Mystic Point, a sub-land of Adventureland, is isolated by non-related lands. Here, Toy Story Land gives way to another Adventureland sub-land aimed at younger families based on Meso-American ruins & wilderness. There is a family coaster (the scale of Barnstormer) through a rainforest alive with wild beasts & birds. A crumbling temple based on Tikal, houses a family darkride on a comedic archeaology dig. The transition to Mystic Point is smoother.

The Academy (purple) Grizzly Peak serves the purpose of representing the American (north)West. Leaving the frontier behind and transitioning southward is a new land inspired by DL's proposed Discovery Bay. The setting is 1890s urban fantasy steampunk. The land is inhabited by great inventors - full of their odd inventions, machines, automotons, gears, clock-towers, steam engines, etc.

An AA show similar to the proposed "Professor Marvel's Gallery of Illusions" is present along with a water adventure/flume through a robot factory. The large showbuilding houses a major EMV dark ride - with Jason Chandler subbing for Indiana Jones.

      Nice, No Toy Story Land!
Don't think of a gun as a weapon.
Think of it as a third arm that magically
      shoots bullets!

Voyage of the Little Mermaid (DHS Show) or The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Adventure (Future Dark Ride?)

(I've never visited Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Resort Paris, nor Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, so don't be fooled when I pretend to know what I'm talking about. [But I'm pretty good with the information, if I do say so myself. And you can hit me all you want with Walt Disney World.])

I like this one much better (much more realistic/grounded) than the last one. This one really has elements that you could say "yes, this is a viable option for the park".

I like it alot, except for the Steampunk area. I just don't think that works.

The Fantasy Land expansion is a great idea indeed. I like the Fantasmic!

Awesome stuff as always. Randy, could you post your old plans with the ToT themed Geyser mountain?

Loving everything but the steampunk land... But that's probably only because I don't like the steampunk concept all that much in any event.

All of it is great except for maybe keeping the Frontierland theme you had previously with the Geyser Mountain and Western Expedition Raft Ride . The Northern part of Fantasyland is much more believable and toned down compared to your Beastly Kingdome
