  • [Question] Hong Kong Disneyland's Potential size?

I was wondering, If HKDL where built out to the red line, how many acres could it potentially be? a Disneyland size? A little bigger? MK size? just curious. The red outlines the current (or almost current) 68 acres. If there were expansions into the green area what could the size be? Im sure WDC conssiderd all thats in the green to become part of the park eventually.

You can do a rough estimate visually. The green parts is approximately 50% of what's in red. So that would put the estimated max size at 102 acres. (68 * 1.5). There's actually land beyond that could be used like DL's Indy so there's still a bit more that the HKDL could actually expand to. Compare that to DL which is roughly 85 acres.

Size is not the problem. Layout is. HKDL is the worst planned Disneyland ever. Alot of empty space big but too small to do anything with. Look at Adventureland... huge but empty. Still nowhere to put a ride.

Admittedly, any hopes of really expanding out to a full adventure land were dashed by the neew chain of expansions. Adventure land just serves as an awfully large gate to those expansion pads. How ever, you can always look at the land FotLK takes up as it, like its AK counterpart, was only supposed to be temperary. Between the queu/outside portion, the building, and the amount of space you have backstage, its could fit a pretty decent sized attaction or two. It wouldnt necesarily makes AL into a full land but at least you'd have 2 or 3 attractions and a treehouse. Other than that, if the next few attractions are planned smart and done right, unlike the last 3, you could have a very good park.

Lion King should be moved but not removed. It is the biggest Disney movie ever and the music will be remembered for generations to come.

Of course, but the realistate it takes up is pretty prime. Sure, you can use the pad below GG but why waste all the pads so early if you dont have to. The theater could be moved to a new location, and when the time comes, another location

Actually there is space to the top right of the FOLK that maybe big enough for one attraction. I think that's the area being used right now for "Graves Academy".

when I was thinking of attractions I was going more toward a PoTC-esque attraction. So that spot wouldn't be quite big enough without LK gone. With all the space, you could add a lagoon with a pirates water show. "Graves Academy" space souly because that spot is used to help HK have arguaably the best disney halloween of all disney parks. Seasonal entertainment can be crucial

Still a lot of potential in this 1/2 day park....allot of poorly planned use of space for sure in HKDL... Shoooot how bout expanding the western theme of grizzly gultch to the bottom portion and retheme toy story midway mania to a western theme and call it Woodys Round up.. and of course a shooting gallery, fort and some fangled water flume attraction to tie it all together....
