  • Chinese New Year Review:HKDL vs HK Ocean Park

HKDL : 5 consecutive soldout days during Chinese Lunar New Year

HK Ocean Park: 3 consecutive days with attendance over 40,000
Record breaking day on 1/31/2006(3rd day of Chinese NY)
    with attendance at 47,000

The Chairman of HK Ocean Park didn't comment on the recent incident at HKDL but when asked about the crowds at HK Ocean Park, he said they would also stop people from entering the gate. He said 47,000 would be the max capacity for HK Ocean Park and HK Ocean Park has its own policy and plan for crowd management. They would give free-drinks, free snacks to waiting guests outside the park as well as using a softer tone to ask them to wait patiently or send OP characters for photo taking with waiting guests........

If Mickey and Minnie came out from the park and distribute Mickey Head ice-cream to those being rejected in front of the gate, it would re-write the whole story...

Ocean Park is doing a great job during the Chinese New Year period. They have many additional smaller scale entertainments around the park (and keep them away from the major attractions) which make the park less crowded.

It's called not getting them angry in the first place.

Re: Chinese New Year Review:HKDL vs HK Ocean Park

HK Ocean Park just released some figures for their record breaking Chinese Lunar New Year.

During the 1st eight days of Chinese Lunar New Year, they received 267,000 guests.

Go figure how many guests HKDL did receive during the same period????

          anyone wants to guess?

By the way, it was reported that there might be lots of guests for HKOP this coming Chinese Valentine's Day (or Spring Lantern Festival) on 12th Feb 2006.
