    Partial Translation:

This is the 1st time for Hong Kong Disneyland to hold its Disney's Halloween event in Hong Kong.
Mr. Wong, a mainland chinese visitor together with his family went to HKDL as part of their trip during the Golden Week Holiday. He said the price for the ticket (HK$ 3 hundred something) is acceptable and he could spend a whole day there. To him, Disney's Halloween is quite interesting and the atmosphere is good.

Glad to see it was a wide sampling for the survey.

they call it "Mini" Halloween Parade by their marketing people.
                  better than nothing!!

I can see this as a natural progression.
you see a Mini Halloween Parade this year, a Small Halloween Parade next year.....and medium halloween parade.....a big halloween parade......and so on .....(provided they make money this year)

^True, it turns out as a success, the parade and other entertainment can grow over the next several years. This is what will be happening at Disneyland in CA with our HalloweenTime event.

I wonder if HKDisneyland is going to start up a christmas season after this? I would think so, with all the other Disney parks having full blown Christmas seasons with full christmas parades, shows, fireworks, food, and attraction overlays. HKDL could build their season up over time too, which I hope they do.

HKDL had a Christmas season last year - a modest affair with a Christmas at the station end of Main Street and fake snow at night.
I believe this year is going to be the same, but with a new and "plussed" tree lighting ceremony, a Santa meeting spot and perhaps a few extra decorations here and there.
Perhaps we'll get a "Christmas Mini-Parade" as well? They could also do up the Opera House like they did for Halloween "Villains Lair" for the Santa meeting, not sure where that's going to be otherwise.

One could argue that the Halloween "Mini-Parade" is actually 2 things: the Graveyard Float AND the Marching Band (in costume). Does anyone know if the parade music is only the medley provided by the Marching Band and there is otherwise no parade music?
                      Upcoming Trips:
Tokyo Disney Resort 20-22 January 2011

I don't intend to go there during October Golden Week, just to avoid the crowds. anyone here can update us on that?

I went today. No crowds. The only time it took to get on the rides was as long as it took us to walk there. The lion king show was about 1/2 full. The stores were empty. We had a cast member beg us to take a photo with Pluto because there was no one there. We even got to see the Stitch encounter. This is only the second time since it's opened. We were thrilled. Just a joke, when he asked me where I was from I said Hawaii and his pat answer was I never heard of it. Two minutes later he said he was from Hawaii. But, this is national day and there was lot's going on all over Hong Kong.
My husband works at Ngong Peng, and we could get up the hill, but we would have needed a bus ride down. They stopped round trip tickets at 3 this afternoon. When I went to his office at 5:30, the crowds at the top were huge. (Looking at the CCTV)

I'm going back to HKDL on Tuesday. I'll update on the crowds then.

Good news for Ngong Ping. I need to get back to HK to take that trip, last time I took the bus which was an adventure in itself.

Did you stay for the Halloween Mini-Parade tonight? Was the music for the parade just whatever was played by the marching band or is there some recorded music like Disney on Parade? What's the Villain's Lair like inside?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, it just seems like they've gone to a lot of effort, making it an interesting season.

No, we didn't stay for the parade. We had planned to ride the cable car at 5:30 but there is NO WAY that I'm taking that bus ride. Doesn't matter, we'll go again after golden week.

I'll let you know about the parade later in the week. It's a trip to the art museum and a walk through the avenue of the stars and Kowloon park to look at the lanterns tomorrow.

Today was a funny day. It was a bit rainy in the morning so they did the rainy day parade float thing. Then the afternoon parade was the normal one. 7:30 I think was the halloween parade. Visitors today got a three in one parade day.

Yes too many activities in Hong Kong today, cos' it is National Day!
thats why HKDL wasn't that busy today. I went to see the National Day fireworks at Victoria Harbour.
It was packed with people along Nathan Road somewhere from Miramar Hotel down to the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. They blocked part of Nathan Rd as usual on the day of Fireworks at Victoria Harbour and turn that section of Nathan Rd as a pesdestrian walkway.
It was report by TV news that there were about 440,000 people watching the Fireworks on both sides of the Harbour. It looks more than 440,000 people to me, because i couldn't even move among the crowds.

This year National Day fireworks are Spectacular!

Well...HK Ocean Park was busy today (from insider working at HKOP). Tickets for HK Ocean Park's Halloween Bash were soldout for today and tomorrow.

                                  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=930xPtQnDOE&NR

The Mini Halloween Parade consists of one float ~ "Graveyard Float", 12 Disney dancers and the HKDL marching band. It uses "Grim, Grinning Ghosts" as its sound track ... despite the fact that there is no Haunted Mansion at HKDL.
The whole parade lasted almost 3 minutes.

Re: HKDL's Disney Halloween with pics and comments from Mainland Visitors.

From TV there were just a few people in HKDL, I think it was ever fewer than a regular weekday... It is high season in Hong Kong and you can’t imagine how empty is the park, no queue in many hot attractions like Space and Buzz.

Well, it doesn't surprise me as staff tickets are not available during the National Day period. Don't forget the majority of guests in the park are the friends of the HKDL staffs without paying money to the park (but probably paid to their friends).

I went to HKOP last night for the Halloween event. Despite the premium tickets were sold out there were not too many people (of course still much more than HKDL I think). I had very high expectation on the HKOP Halloween event but IMO it turns out just average / acceptable. May be its just my issue as my friends and many visitors love the event much.

There are many construction sites in HKOP. Some new attractions will be completed in late 2006 / early 2007 and I am sure they help to attract a lot of people to HKOP. How about our poor HKDL? Sorry ISASW will not be opened until 2008.

HKOP will open at least one new attraction every 6 months until 2010. It will be a big challenge to HKDL if they are not going to speed up its expansion plan.
