  • Photo Update 19-Nov-2006 - THREE Cranes and Santa

Thanks to the Source of the Source, we have pics of not one but THREE cranes hovering over Fantasyland, and a tiny peek behind the fence.

    Start the debating now!

ORWEN: Oh, thank you Loomis, duckling! You're ever so kind!

ORGOCH: What kind we ain't sure 'bout, but kind none-the-less.

ORDDU: How rude!! I know exactly what kind Loomis is. He's a fluffy little Peking duck with webbed feet and a beak for Hong Kong Disneyland News. You should know that by now and if you don't it's your own fault for going off your medication too quickly.

ORWEN: Anyway, I suspect those cranes have to be related to It's a Small World in some way. I could find out really quick if I wanted to cheat and look into our crystal ball for the answer. But what fun is that?!

I'm not one to usually contribute to rumors, but according to my cast member friends at that park this is going to be a "It's a Small World." But I really don't know for sure.

At the very least, I have another "source" for this week's round-up. Thanks and welcome to the forum

But do they really need 3 cranes of that size just to build an "it's a small world"? From what i have gathered, they dont even have a foundation in or piles driven, if they need those.

From Leemac on Laughingplace.com, he reports IASW will be officially announced in January and it will be similar to Mary Blair's version of the DL ride, and not a flooded building like WDW/TDL/DLP's.

Which brings me back to my original theory of it being the world's largest claw game.

Seriously though, it is possible that they are doing some massive work for future expansion to be coupled with the IASW attraction. I'd imagine landscaping and so forth would be necessary - you can't just plonk a massive new ride down without additional frilly bits around it.

If you blow up the picture and look to the right of the green fence, you can see the foundation wall of some sort of building. To me it looks like condo's in Florida.

I did mean to enlarge that, but I could get it quite right at the time. Using the original photo, this is what the area behind the fence looks like.

                      They DO look like condos!

OK, it's settled: DVC condos overlooking the world's largest giant claw game.
                        Upcoming Trips:
Tokyo Disney Resort 20-22 January 2011

Now I have to go over there and look for the claw! I'll leave my daughter at home, she's kind of a fat kid. I wonder if they would cut those trees down for me, they're in the way of my getting a good look.

I suggest taking some kind of chainsaw or hedge-trimming equipment. I'm sure Disney security would be cool with that...

...after all, they let a crazy hatted man in twice.

Maybe the new Hong Kong Disneyland "it's a small world " will have more life-like doll's, perhaps like the AA's on the Sindbad's seven voyages boat ride at Tokyo DisneySea. Any thoughts? Good, bad idea?
