  • IASW Construction Photos and New Merchandise

One of our wonderful spies has sent us some very fresh and very exciting new photos of the "it's a small world" construction. Plus, we've got snaps of some brand new merchandise for September's 2nd anniversary!

    Here's a few samples:

Thanks very much for the report Loomis! It's nice to see the familiar shape of the attraction starting to appear.

Is the 2nd anniversary stuff mostly just pins and biscuits?

I saw a couple of pins and t-shirts the other day. We're going back today and I'll let you know if there is anything else.

Is that the entrance to IASM shown on the first picture? Are they going to have a tunnel go under the rail road track? Like the one for the Story Book Theatre?

I believe they put the railroad on a bridge earlier on in the construction as guests will have to pass under the tracks to access the attraction. Speaking of which - nobody has specifically said if the trains running the full circle around the park again?

ORDDU: In answer to the train schedule, my sisters and I recall reading a report some months back that the train only goes half-way around the park while all this construction is taking place. It runs forward and then backs up for a return trip to Main Street.

ORWEN: Well, if you ask me, they should have planned better to begin with. They should have assumed there would be attractions built outside each land and had pre-installed tunnels for each one. I mean, really! Is that asking for too much?

Just another example of looking at short term instead of long term.

I hope it will be like the original Disneyland ISAW where the entrance is in front of the train track instead yo have to go through yet another tunnel like Autopia. It draw you to the attraction more if it is on the same side of the track as everything else. Are they the ones who invented the concept "weiner" 52 years ago?

Re: IASW Construction Photos and New Merchandise

The train will be in front of the IASW building but not running thru the facade as is the case in DL and DLP.

Katsmom.. are the pins for the 2nd anniversary "limited editions" or do you think they will be available on Aug 19th when I plan to visit?

"Pins & Biscuits" has a nice ring, doesn't it?

I can see it now: an emporium featuring nothing but pins... and biscuits.

                            (Nice pins, by the way.)

WE don't even get biscuits for our lesser OR bigger anniversaries at WDW... just a pin if we are lucky, so count your blessing. I appreciate greatly they are trying at HKDL.
I am sure OLC will have a TDS 6th anniversary merchandise line in sept that will include mugs, pins, plushes, cellstraps, food items, Teeshirt etc etc... just like they did in April for TDL's 24th. At WDW, DLP or even DLR?... nothing!
