I think this picture explains why there isn't a Frontierland in Hong Kong. Their Main Street IS Frontierland. Very interesting indeed.

Yeah, this particular building reminds me of Phantom Manor @ Euro Disneyland.

      Kinda spooky! :monkey:

        Wow

Having looked at all the other photos on Screamscape, this is turning out to be a visual-wise stunning park. I just hope that because it is in the Magic Kingdom category of Disney parks, it isn't built completely economy style.

ORWEN: It looks as though there is to be an indoor theatre on the outside berm of Fantasyland--from what we saw in one of the pictures. It's called Storybook Theatre. So, this must be one of the previously 'unannounced' attractions the Disney company was referring to in a past report.

ORGOCH: Kind a makes a witch wonder what OTHER stuff they's got hidden up their sleeves...

ORDDU: It would appear that there is actually a lot of unused space that may, eventually, have attractions crammed in between the current roster of rides. We'll certainly be interested to wait and see...

Wow, before I clicked on the link I thought to myself "That looks like the same pictures that are on ScreamScape". LOL!!!

Nice pics though, too bad the park is probably going to suck.

When this park opens you'll see the usual bitching from the peanut gallery about how much it sucks (and if it's anything like Walt Disney Studios it WILL suck), however much of this will be addressed in Phase II, just as it is in Walt Disney Studios--that park will double in size by 2009. The Magic Kingdom in Hong Kong will also have a dozen rides and attractions added within the foreseeable future. This is the way Disney has been building parks since Disney-MGM studios was built and so it's NOT NEWS.

ORWEN: Hey, Sir Clinks-alot, duckling! Try as I might, I couldn't find ANY pictures from Hong Kong Disneyland on your web-footed site.

ORDDU: I suppose that's not what he meant to show you, dear.

ORWEN: But this is a topic about Hong Kong Pictures, I thought. Or did I miss something?

ORGOCH: Yeah! It's called a BRAIN!!

It will definately not be anything like Walt Disney Studios (What a pathetic park!). The only really fair thing to gripe about the park is the small number of attractions. As far as theme, detail, atmosphere, beauty...the park is full on with other MKs around the world (well maybe not quite Paris... ) When the park opens and we get to comment on the finished product, it will be good to seperate the comments about the lack of things to do...which I agree will probably be fixed in the coming years...and the overall quality of the park, which is a much harder thing to fix after opening.

The place is more than attractions in a park. They have 2 new hotels, a recreation area with a lake and tons of roads and other required infrastructure. Not to mention that the land it sits on used to be part of the bay! Now lets factor in the extra construction costs with having to build all the attractions to withstand their unique weather conditions. There is nothing cheap about these items. The park itself was built to be expanded with new rides and they already have plans to do just that. They can even fill in more land and add a second park later.

That is all very true Jaybee. But the Chinese government paid for all of that. Disney is barely out of pocket on this park. Think World Showcase at EPCOT, They can build something very nice, but only if someone else is willing to pay for it.

And I totally agree that this park is built in such a way that it can be expanded gracefully. What little they built looks like it will be very nice.
