    I think HKDL does not want to have shows and performances that bring their performance personnel into close contact with guests, just in case someone is infected with COVID-19. Because that would mean immediate shutdown of the park. So I think parades will not be returning soon.

      • Disney+ launch event was held at HKDL. There were fireworks in the show and this could be a preview of the upcoming Nighttime Spectacular that will debut next year.

          Disneyland jacks up prices to 'better manage demand'

          Disneyland one-day tickets will go up under a new two-tier pricing system that will charge more on peak days.

          A one-day ticket calendar showing regular days and peak days, which are weekends and public holidays, will be available on Hong Kong Disneyland's official website - www.hongkongdisneyland.com.

          The adult price for peak days will be HK$699, up 9 percent from the regular day price of HK$639. Children's tickets on peak days will cost HK$524, 10 percent more than the regular HK$475.

          Adult visitors with disabilities will pay HK$489 on peak days, 9 percent up, while children with disabilities pay HK$366, 10 percent up. They will continue to enjoy a 30 percent discount on all one-day tickets.

          One-day tickets prices for seniors aged 65 or above will remain the same at HK$100, on both regular and peak days.

          The new system will take effect today (19 October 2021), but the first peak day will fall on November 20.

          From today to October 19 next year, residents aged between 60 and 64 who are JoyYou card holders for the HK$2 concessionary fare scheme can enjoy the same HK$100 as senior citizens.

          Disneyland also raised prices for two-day tickets. Adults will have to pay 5 percent more from HK$825 to HK$865, while child tickets increased 7 percent to HK$649.

          "This new pricing structure helps spread visitation throughout the year, better manage demand and enable the delivery of a premium guest experience," a Disneyland statement said yesterday.

          "This approach offers even more choices to guests, in addition to other value added ticket products such as the Magic Access program."

          New prices will also apply to Magic Access Memberships on November 20, with the annual passes increasing 11 percent to HK$3,998 for Platinum adult members, and the adult Gold membership will cost HK$2,228 compared to the previous HK$2,059. The price for an adult Silver Membership remains unchanged.

          The new prices for student/child memberships under Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers are HK$950, HK$1,588 and HK$2,878 respectively.

          But those with memberships expiring on or before April 30 next year can get a 30 percent discount by renewing their memberships from today to November 19. They can also enjoy an extra one-month's membership.

          A "Double the Fun" promotion is available during the Halloween and Christmas period. Guests can enter the park twice between September 7 this year and January 19 next year. Tickets are HK$699 for adults and HK$520 for children.

          ================================================== ==============================================

          Another price hike... I really don't think it is wise to hike the prices at this time. But maybe HKDL is confident they will be better off doing it. I seriously doubt that.
          As long as people are crazy enough to pay these ridiculous prices for the smallest park in the world, Disney will keep jacking up the price.

                HKDL was full to the brim these past two days, as Hong Kong people are unable to travel overseas and look for a place to visit with a foreign holiday feel.

                Yes, I was there yesterday. I have never seen the park so full. Almost all eateries were open but the restaurants and snack carts were still full of people.

                  Hong Kong Disneyland closing for 2 weeks amid global Covid-19 surge

                  (CNN) — Hong Kong Disneyland has announced that the park will temporarily close from Friday, January 7, to Thursday, January 20.

                  On its website, the park pointed to the latest global surge of Covid-19 saying the move was "required by the government and health authorities and in line with prevention efforts taking place across Hong Kong."

                  The move affects the theme park itself, but not its resort hotels.

                  Hong Kong Disneyland said the hotels "will remain open with adjusted level of services. Service at restaurants and recreation facilities in hotels will be adjusted according to the latest regulations."

                  For people holding tickets during the temporary closing, the park said it will extend the tickets and said more details would be forthcoming. It also said, "special handling will also be given to hotel bookings falling within this period."

                  Previous closures

                  Openings and closings of the park are starting to become something of a routine now in the pandemic.

                  Most recently, Hong Kong Disneyland was shut down briefly in November after a visitor tested preliminarily positive for the coronavirus. Staff and visitors were made to undergo Covid testing.

                  The park was shuttered for months at the start of the pandemic, but reopened in June 2020 with precautions now commonplace at theme parks around the world: Guests required to book in advance, have temperature checks and wear face masks.

                  This most current closure now makes it the fourth time the park has been closed during the pandemic.

                  ================================================== ================================================== ===============

                  The "Double the Fun" tickets, which allows guests to enter the park twice before 19 Jan, will be extended for 2 weeks. I am one of them who bought these tickets and it looks like we will not be able to go again until either very close to Chinese New Year or even after Chinese New Year, if the closure is further extended.
