Shanghai Disneyland focused on Adventure

I was reading a post over at Blue Sky Disney today, where they mention that the new name of the river ride, Lost World Roaring Rapids, and the area in front of the castle will be called Fantasia Gardens. It also talks about the focus of the park being on a lot of adventure. Sounds great to me. Can't wait to see the rock work they talk about for the mountain.

That's a good idea, but I still have some doubts about SHDL. I just hope that it will not be too much character based, since TWDC wants to use that park to make their products more popular in China.

Blue Sky Disney is usually spot on with their scoops, so these are pretty strong rumours... and all good ideas I think.

That's a good idea, but I still have some doubts about SHDL. I just hope that it will not be too much character based, since TWDC wants to use that park to make their products more popular in China.

It could be character based, but I think that the quality of the experience is more related to what they do with those characters and movies. It's true that in China disney movies and characters aren't so popular, but with some more thrilling rides, it could work. For example, Radiator Springs racers is a great ride, with disney-presence and funny enough to ride it even if you've never hear about Cars.

I really wish that WDI had not gone with the design of th castle that they chose. I saw Tim Burtons Alice tonight and would have really loved to have seen the Red queens castle as a center point for the park.

Could you imagine entering Underland instead of Fantasia gardens and encountered some of the amazing scenery of the movie. There are so many attractions that could have been inspired from the movie. The lush gardens and water features could then have transitioned into other fairy tale worlds quite easily

Not always. For example BTMRR, POTC, PM/HM, SM or ToT. Fantastic rides can also be based on original ideas. In China it makes sense to use characters or Disney movies, since Disney wants to make their characters and products more popular.

+ Expedititon Everest + Test Track also Mystic Manor and BGM look good too.

I think most of their best rides are originals.
