  • News No Jubilation Parade During Halloween Season

This stinks: just noticed this while looking at the planned attraction closures to see what I might miss in October.

Jubilation is closed for the entire Halloween season from September 10 to November 3.

    Rats.

I'm pretty sure that's just because there will be the special Halloween parade instead, that you can only see during that time. Somebody told me the theme is "Villains" this year, which sounds cool. It's gonna be my first Halloween at TDR, so I can't really compare or anything, but...Maybe it's actually lucky?

The main day time parade is usually put on hiatus during the popular Halloween Season. With the exception being during Anniversary years. It does suck that you will be unable to watch Jubilation, although since you've recently got back, I'm assuming you've already seen the parade. The Halloween parade is a lot of fun and I've enjoyed a couple of them over the years.

The Villains theme was used last year, so not sure if that one is correct, as the park usually uses a differnt theme every year.

Thanks, Malin. I actually thought that when she told me, but since she's much more "hardcore" about Disney than me, I didn't question it. Now that you've said that, though, I'm tempted back to my original suspicion which was "Monsters," in light of the new attraction and its huge popularity.^^

Excuse my refusal to do some research, but what is the Jubilation Parade?

Re: No Jubilation Parade During Halloween Season

There has usually been 2 Halloween parades- one during the day & another at night with a variation in both characters and music-

I know Jubilation was performed at Christmas Fantasy last year since it was the anniversary. I was a little upset that there wasn't a christmas parade, but was very pleased the castle show was back in full force.

It is reasons like this one that allow the WDC to get away with so little at our American parks, especially at WDW. "What they do not know, won't hurt them" But if more Disney bound guests took the time to research the entertainment offered at TDR, they will very easily see why this resort is 2nd to none.. because their entertainment (parades and event show) excel beyond belief for what could be considered a "normal" Disney guest in the USA.

Does anyone know if the "Lets Go Villains Parade" will perform this year again? Based on TDLs website it looks as though that may be the case as they stated This year again the villains from the Disney films are plotting to take over the Halloween fun.

I hope this year TDL will have a Christmas Parade. As cool as Mickey's Jolly Snowtime was it stunk not having a parade.

Re: No Jubilation Parade During Halloween Season

Doubtful the Villains parade will play again. Halloween is a very popular event with guests and so far, OLC has managed to create new themes and entertainment for TDL's halloween without repeating the same parade or show from one year to the next. I expect all new stuff this year. If by chance they did repeat the same parade from last year, I would be extremely disappointed with them... because I would find that to be extremely cheap, in a WDW-kind of way.
Then again.. seems to me that in the last few years.. the good and more savy folks from OLC have been paying way too much attention and respect to the WDC folks, who operate with a big pair of budget scissors in their hands. Reason why TDR's entertainment has been suffering some and many non-halloween shows have been repeating themselves for the past 3-4 years. This is simply a disgrace, and if I didn't know any better... a calculated way of Disney to diminish the quality of TDR on purpose.. because they know the japanese run a much better resort in every respect.
Still, we have seen more unique and original shows at TDL in the past year, compared to the MK at WDW in the past 5. So hope is still alive for TDL's future.

I don't see it as a Disney-influenced decision at all. To me it seems like, given the world's economy basically collapsed, OLC has used that as an excuse to deliver less than they have in the past. They, like all other companies, need to watch the bottom line as well. I don't see in the slightest how this is a malicious move on Disney's behalf.

You may be right.. but the economy was not in the toilet 6 years ago when they started repeating events like "Princess Days" or "Cinderellabration". This trend at TDR started long before the economy problems started. Besides.. I am there all the time and I see a lot of of the WDC suits walking around the parks with their japanese escorts/interpreters... and frankly? I think they should mind their american parks more and let the japanese run their park their way for their most visible guests: the locals.
