  • News Tokyo Disney Easter

I just read this this morning that coming next year from April thru June is the Tokyo Disneyland Easter

    Disney's Easter Wonderland 4/1 -6/30, 2010

The parade-type entertainment will be held by characters in "Alice in Wonderland". It's the first Easter event filled with "Wonder" and "Surprise".

This is coming from Resort at Home site: Resortathome.com

There's other updates as well for some things planned for 2010

Well, well, well....very interesting! I wonder how the fanbase will embrace Easter? I wonder if it will take off like Halloween did? It certainly has no shortage of "cute" characters and decorations. The only weird thing for me, is that it lasts through June!

    Thanks for the update!

I am really excited for this. It sounds like an excellent pairing with Spring Carnival over at Tokyo DisneySea. The Alice in Wonderland theme is sure to be a great fit giving a very whimsical feel to this traditional holiday. How about getting to hunt Easter Eggs in Toon Town?

As far as the other events go, Power of Music could be awesome, depends on how it turns out. Glad to see Spring Carnival is back. To be honest, I am pretty disappointed they are bringing back Cool the Heat and Chip n' Dale's Cool Service Deluxe, both are great shows but I was hoping for something new. Bonfire Dance is fun but what is really interesting is the fact there is another Waterfront Stage Show for Halloween! Does this mean the return of Mysterious Masquerade?!

I really like the sounds of Easter Wonderland at TDL. Many years ago, I remember that TDR sold some small Disney plushes that zipped in an Easter egg. I never really understood why they didn't promote Easter after that. In any regard, I love the combination of Easter and Alice and Wonderland. I'm hoping it can meet my expectations, and I agree that it sounds like a good pairing with the Spring Carnival event at TDS. I'm sure I'll like the Disney's Power of Music, but I don't have as much to say about it, though

Since Disney's Power of Music is the winter event at TDL, the schedule doesn't show any winter event for TDS. I wonder what they are planning ... anything? nothing? I guess we'll have to wait.

Well, TDS is planning on the "Valentine Night" event (including a CD release), and possibly another type of "Sweet Duffy" event in February and March.

Talking of the Power of Music, has anyone got any new information on the event. As I'm in Japan anyway during March I'm considering a overnight trip down to Tokyo to see this event in person. Are Castle Shows hard to view if you don't get tickets to the actual seating area?

By the way love the idea of an Easter Event, another religulous Holiday celebrated for all the wrong reasons But seriously its an event with potential and has been celebrated at Hong Kong Disneyland for a few years now, although not to the budget that TDL is pulling off here. My only concern is that I can't imagine still celebrating Easter right up into June.

                  Re: Tokyo Disney Easter

We are going on Saturday, but just during the day. Since we have AP we figure if we only get on a couple of rides, that is okay. Since we have small children and the Easter Bunny comes early to our house then we will leave in the afternoon. So I hope the crowds aren't too bad.
                  Regards,

I guess he was talking about the アリスのワンダーランド・パーティ 「Alice's Wonderland Party」 event that ran from 1/15~3/19 at TDL in 1995. I don't know much about it, but it looks interesting:

Surely someone else around here knows more or maybe can hunt up some video?

I know the soundtrack was released on the "Treasures of Fantasy" set. From what I recall, the stage was actually set up at the now gone "Small World Stage". I could be wrong, but I think the whole thing was to promote the improvements made to the Mad Tea Party. I think the show itself was called "Alice's Unbirthday Party". It was not particularly easter themed at all. It was just a celebration of "Alice in Wonderland".

Here's my shot at a localisation, with the help of eXcite for translation. Sounds like it was focused in Fantasyland:

                              1/15: Tweedledum & Tweedledee's Twins Party
eXcite says:"Dee & dam invited the guest more than the twin to the park at the event first day."
So...maybe it was something like a Pair Passport, or maybe they let twins in free??? That would be cool, and probably actually cheaper!)

                              1/15~3/19: Alice's Wonderland Party
                              Alice's Wonderland Tales
Alice wanders off to Wonderland. This musical show held at the Small World Stage was in proportion to to the story of the movie and was unfolded.* Also featuring the Cheshire Cat and the Dodo Bird.
*Perhaps things were scaled very small so that Alice was very large, or vice-versa? Or perhaps it's a retelling of the film, but that would need more than two extra characters...

                              Happy Unbirthday Party
First appearance of face characters for the Mad Hatter and March Hare. A tea party for Guests whose birthday it's not. (I just noticed the "rubberhead" Hatter on the map above; he's a total face character now, with just a rubber nose. Wish they'd do that with Cinderella's Fairy Godmother; that mask and those weird eyes are totally creepy! The new White Rabbit looks much more like the animated one, too, if memory serves.)

March of the Queen of Hearts
Cheerful greeting parade featuring Alice, the Queen of Hearts, and the Card Soldier Band marching through Fantasyland.

                              Photo Spots
Here and there scattered about Fantasyland are Photo Spots decorated with Wonderland-themed props and backdrops. The centerpiece is the flowerbed outside Mickey Mouse Revue.

                              Special Menu
Alice's Unbirthday Cake - available at Small World Restaurant** for ¥650.
Alice's Fruit Cake - available (at Cleo's?) outside Pinocchio's Daring Journey for ¥650.

**According to the map, there was also a Character Greeting at the Small World Restaurant. I guess the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall wasn't built yet? I think we can still get the Unbirthday Cake there, but I still haven't tried it. Guess I'll have to do that this week! Clock's a-ticking...I'm late, I'm late!

It's weird how I can't find photos of this event...there are always photos and videos of everything TDR, but this event remains shrouded behind a mysterious veil...

...And on that note, I did happen upon this, quite by accident:lmao:

Mickey as a Hatter, Donald as a Rabbit (100 bonus points for this alone), Minnie in English attire, and of course high quality floats.
