  • [Question] Trip Planning Advice! I'M LEAVING IN A WEEK!!!!!!

Hey guys, This is really last minute, but I am going to Tokyo Disneyland in a week, with my family(5).:yea: We're going for 3 days(the 10th, 11th, and 12th.) So I'm hoping I can get some advice and tips before I go. How big should I expect crowds to be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Crowds will be big because the parks start their Xmas scheduled activities on Nov 10th.. and there will be a lot of APers.. and fanatic fans decending over the park like acid rain. Get there very very early, about 45 mins before park's opening hours and stake a place. You have a party of 5? Hmmm... Not sure you will get much done when you have that many people in tow or dealing with huge crowds. Depends on how quickly yoou guys can move and catch up. But still... GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the Info! Could you give me a brief strategy of what attractions to hit first? Or point me to a website with info? Thanks!

I'm also visiting Disneyland & Sea and wanted to know what the process is for getting a reserved seat for the Big Band Beat and One Man's Dream shows. I read on the site that you have to meet at a certain place in both parks to get ticktes.

Hi Brer Stephan! I think there is many threads here discussing strategy but at TDL the most important thing is to get the FP for Monsters Inc at Park open. Since you are a family of 5 send your fastest runner and then the rest of the family can walk to the queue for Monsters and you can meet them in the queue once you have the fast pass so you can ride it twice. Then when your pass is open again get a pass for Pooh Haunted Mansion Holiday and whatever other attractions have a long wait like Space and Big thunder. It may be so crowded that the wait for food is very long so I recommend either bringing something with you or going outside to eat since your time is limited.

At TDS the things that will be crazy crowds would be Meet and Smile and the line for Santa and Duffy. You will need to do the lottery for BBB! For the lottery the lucky time is unknown right now but park open is always a good time to go because many people win but it is also the time you should be running to Lido Isle for Meet and Smile so maybe split up with the larger group going to M&S and one person doing the lottery. Also it's the last year for Candlelight Reflections so check it out at night.

Twinkie bell the lottery locations are in Tomorrowland and in Mediterranean Harbor. I think you should check the map and ask a CM because if you do not know the area it is much easier to see it visually to know where you are going. The TDR website has an English section where you can check out these locations.

I have been sick this past week but plan to be there on the 10th very early if my health improves. If you would like to meet please let me know in a pm.

Ichigopara, thank you for writing. I read on the Japanese homepage that those are the locations, but I was just wondering HOW the tickets were distributed. It says it's by 抽選 so I was wondering how that went about. I hope you're feeling better by the way!!

Re: Trip Planning Advice! I'M LEAVING IN A WEEK!!!!!!

You can enter the lottery once a day with your group and must choose which performance you would like to attend

If you all want to see the show together, you must go up to the machine- which can be changed into english instructions- scan each park pass for everyone in your group & touch the screen and you will either win tickets, that will print out immediately, or you will get the Sorry message.

You can always try separately, but it's very doubtful each person would win separately & you wouldn't be sitting together even if you did.

I'm attaching both links to english- but it doesn't give much more information

Re: Trip Planning Advice! I'M LEAVING IN A WEEK!!!!!!

You should see how things go in the morning when you get there since sometimes the lottery line can be a long wait to get in. You can go anytime during the day- as long as there are still shows available.

I assume shows during parade times, you may have a slightly better chance, but I wouldn't want to miss some of their parades either.

From what I've heard from others- when you get in there, see if you can tell if others around you are winning tickets before you enter yours. There may be specific time periods before a show that tickets are granted- but I'm only guessing at that since I'm sure the system is completely random.

There's no real rhyme or reason, it all depends mostly on luck. But it can be a real bummer if you wait on a real long line to try to get tickets- then lose.

I've only done them for the bigger castle shows & this past Halloween Masquerade- I would guess that if there are like 5 or 6 shows for either Big Band Beat or One Mans Dream II, chances may be a little better since they are more spread out during the day.

But like I said before- it all depends on how lucky you are when you enter your ticket.

Re: Trip Planning Advice! I'M LEAVING IN A WEEK!!!!!!

My best advise is to get there early before the park opens and run to play the fastpass game as soon as you are in the door. And do make time for the spectacular entertainment, which is what sets Tokyo apart from the other Disney parks. Skip the fireworks thought.
