  • News Tokyo Disneyland To Get Star Tours: The Adventures Continue in 2013

Oriental Land Company has announced that Tokyo Disneyland will be upgrading Star Tours to the new Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. They didn't mention any upgrades from the Disneyland and Disney World versions, but if there are any, it is likely to come in the queue and not the actual ride portion. It is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2013.

That will leave just Disneyland Paris without the new 3D version of this ride.

I do hope that they get a queue at least as good as the one at Disneyland and hopefully even better.

I'm sure that the version of Star Tours coming to Tokyo will be plussed beyond either of the versions in the US. OLC always spends more money. We can already see how much more immersive the exterior area of Toy Story Mania is going to be.

This is great news because it will draw people away from the lines of other rides, notably Monster's Inc. and Pooh's Hunny Hunt, making the park easier to do.

as we found out in the other thread, http://micechat.com/forums/tokyo-dis...niversary.html, the OLC is spending about 7 billion yen which current currency exchange rates place at $90,944,700. And this is for a ride that's already developed. yowza.

I think they already have a queue better than DL or WDW, it's huge. I'm sure it will be even better.

Those were my thoughts as well. The queue was already better, it's just a question of whether it will be getting changes/upgrades. Certain small aspects like paint schemes need to be change obviously, but I wonder if they'll change things to the whole "droids checking bags" thing or not.

I hope they refresh it, it can only get better I hope. I already love how RD-D2 is scanning baggage as you exit the ride.
