We were sent over there with the message that only we would defend Disney quality.. We learnt quickly that the Japanese culture speaks to a level of quality that is hard to comprehend. They were all unbelievably skilled and willing to do the right thing.

Thanks for your blog and fantastic photos. My partner and I looked though all of them - better than anything on TV! We are going to TDR for the first time this November.

Thanks to everyone who read and/or commented! Traveling the world is my favorite thing to do... and there's just something special about Disney in general and of course about TDR itself. It's nice to be able to share my joy with people who "get it".

I'm so glad you had a wonderful time. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog entry. Very well thought out and so easy to follow. It was almost as if I has snuck along on your trip.

Whom did you order the iPad sim card from? Is this some sort of wifi? We are headed to Japan in December and I want to make sure we rent one of these. Thanks!!

I ordered it from Best Rate Rental SIM Card in Japan:: Global Advanced Communications
They have several different options. In order to use a Japanese iPad SIM card, you have to already own an iPad that has 3G with a removable SIM card. (in the US, this means one using AT&T not Verizon) However, there are other options for renting a wifi device that you could use with a wifi only iPad as well as smart phones you can rent.

There are some other companies around, too- at least one of which seemed a bit cheaper. However, this company had a good reputation and I am very pleased with the service I received. The SIM card was waiting for me at my hotel checkin, with easy instructions for its usage. And they provided a pre-paid envelope for mailing it back. It was all very easy and convenient.

There may also be cheaper options if you wait til you get to Japan, but I am not sure how easy it is to rent if you are not a native Japanese (I read mixed reports) and I frankly didn't have time to deal with worrying about it.

Thank you so much. Like you, I'd rather have it waiting for me when I check into the hotel.
