Re: Poster Art of Tokyo Disney Resort

Thanks for posting. I can't see all of them due to some techincal problems.

I too love the attraction poster art of TDL. I have pictures of many of them. I can't say I have them all. Maybe 30 different ones?

The attraction posters at TDL can be found mainly at the front entrance to the World Bazaar. Another place where you can find them is the first floor of the TDL Disney Resort Line station. I found some there that were not in front of the World Bazaar.

I recently was able to get a picture of the attraction poster art for the Castle Mystery Tour. A copy of it was on display at DL Anaheim. It is a beautiful poster and rarely seen anymore since the mystery tour was removed in and now replaced by Cinderella's Fairy Tale Hall.

Prometheus, if you would like copies of all my photos let me know. i can make them available for you.

TDL's Haunted Mansion poster has always been my favorite. I actually have the Mystery Tour poster somewhere in my room.

I was very lucky once and was able to buy about 25 of these in one shot. Beautiful. I wonder how many they'll show in the new Disney poster book? All of these posters were printed in the WDI print shop by the Lords, a very nice couple. They are smaller than the earlier Disneyland posters, but the same size as the poster for Splash Mountain and the newer Jungle Cruise poster. They're also the same size as the posters for Disneyland Paris.

Very cool Prometheus. I saw a lot of the posters from Tokyo Disney Sea on my visit, but completely missed out on most of these from Tokyo Disneyland. I'll have to keep an eye out for them on my next trip!

Re: Poster Art of Tokyo Disney Resort

I have the Pirates of the Caribbean poster. However, the only thing it has on it is the words "Tokyo Disneyland", nothing else. No references to Adventureland, no Japanese words, no nothing else, just the words "Tokyo Disneyland" (much bigger than in the poster shown in the link above) and the words "(C) Disney Enterprises, Inc.", so it looks much more modern than usual.
                        My top favorite Disneyland attractions:

                        1. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
                        2. Pirates of the Caribbean
                        3. Splash Mountain
                        4. Mad Tea Party
                        5. Peter Pan's Flight
                        6. Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin

First visit to a Disney Park was to Tokyo Disneyland in Oct, 2005. I was hooked! Was so blessed to visit Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea in 2009, the original Disneyland and California Adventure in 2010, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea in 2011, and an incredible 5 night stay at Disneyland Paris in February 2013.

Re: Poster Art of Tokyo Disney Resort

Went to Disneyland yesterday for the book release and signing of "Poster Art of the Disney Parks".

The imagineer authors along with four imagineers that have contributed to world wide projects for WDI were there to sign the books.

Larry Nikoli, Will Eyerman, Rolly Crump and Tony Baxeter were those imagineers in attendance.

For those that don't know, Will Eyerman has been working on TDR projects for WDI for the past 15-20 years. He spends a lot of time in Japan and really loves the resort.

The book itself is awesome! It is a large high quality printed book. It covers all the world wide parks and attrations up to Cars Land.

There are no current plans to sell it in Japan, but I think an OLC project to translate and sell it in Japan would be wise.

Here is a link to the book information.

Roger55--I was also there on Saturday morning for the book signing. I hadn't seen Rolly Crump for a few years and it was nice to chat with him, and I own a few pieces of Larry Nikolai's original artwork so it was nice to meet him.

The book is great--I spoke to the authors and they weren't forced to cut it down in size or edit anything out because of space restrictions, which was good to hear. Well worth buying.

Regarding the comment about a different version of the Pirates of the Caribbean poster, I have two versions of the old Teacups poster. Different printing on the bottom and slightly different hue of background color. One has a sponsor at the bottom and the second doesn't. I think that the gaining or losing of a sponsor is usually the reason a new printing of a poster was done.
