[Question] MiceAge Article on TDL and Duffy's Genesis - Link?

I remember reading about a year ago an excellent article on MiceAge about the genesis of TDL's Magic Kingdom park and Duffy, but forgot to bookmark it. I tried the search box on this site, and Google, but it's not coming up. Does someone have better search-fu or bookmarked it, and can post the link? The article discussed how Duffy was created since many Japanese were not necessarily familiar with the fab five characters, and has an intriguing discussion on the Japanese man who spearheaded the MK park in Tokyo and the decision not to use Japanese myths/characters but stick to Disney ones. It was a fantastic article that I would love to read again and share with others interested in theme park evolution. Thanks.

Don't remember the article. Sounds like an interesting one. I have to take exception the the one statement you paraphrased from the article.

Duffy was created in 2005. Tokyo Disneyland had been open for 20+ years by that point so it is not true the Japanese were not that familiar with the fab five.

I was thinking the same thing about the creation of Duffy, which is one reason I wanted to re-read the article. I seem to remember it saying that Duffy's creation was a response to the Japanese public not being as familiar with the fab five, yet he didn't debut until 2005. You're right that doesn't jibe, so either my memory is faulty or something in the article was amiss.
Anyone have the link to this MiceAge article?

I apologize for being a nudge, but no one can find the article? Did it exist or did I imagine it? I think it was only a year ago... or at least does anyone know the name of the Japanese gentleman who was instrumental in getting TDL created? Knowing his name will probably help the search engines to find the article. Thanks.

The only thing I could find with mention of both Duffy and Takahashi Masatomo was an old thread I started about "the Japanese Disney experience." It's not a MiceAge article, but it might be what you're thinking of? One of the things I mentioned is how many Japanese Disney park fans are less familiar with films than US fans might expect, having their fandom fully based in the park experience. If that's not it, I hope at least this helps you find the MiceAge article. And when you do, please let us know. I'd like to read that myself.

That's a great post you wrote, thanks for sharing it again! That might have been what I was thinking of but I could have sworn there was an official MiceAge article about the genesis of TDL. Maybe it was on another Disney site that I saw it. I'll keep looking or maybe I just dreamt it up. Thanks again for your help!
