Re: The Tokyo Disney Resort in Snow

Thank you Malin! It's so cliche to say but it really was truly magical! I did feel awful for the people celebrating coming of age day though as it was not good weather for their kimono but at least the snow was better than the rain we had in the morning. It is extremely rare for us to get so much snow and for it to stay snowing. At Disneyland it's a few degrees warmer than DisneySea so it also usually does not last even half the day so it was really wonderful to see the entire park blanketed.

The Tokyo Disney Resort Cast was also absolutely amazing today! It was tough weather to work in and hard work shoveling so much snow and it snowed all day non stop! I think all the guests at the resort today would like to give a huge thank you. They never stopped smiling and gave it their all.

Getting home was the hard part but after a few hours we managed it and are nice and warm now!

Glad you enjoyed it! It is fairly warm today but there is a lot of snow left over! Unfortunately I'm working in the city and can't play at TDR today! There are still transportation delays today but not like yesterday.

We were sent over there with the message that only we would defend Disney quality.. We learnt quickly that the Japanese culture speaks to a level of quality that is hard to comprehend. They were all unbelievably skilled and willing to do the right thing.

Provided you're properly dressed, the parks are like a wonderland when it snows. Wish I was there!

Thank you for posting the photos, everyone! Although we see snow all winter long where I live, this event looked truly magical. It's so wonderful to see all the people making the most of the weather!

The photos are stunning - but I have to say - living in Florida, I'm happier LOOKING at the snow than BEING in it! I visited Tokyo Disney Resort some ten years ago now (hard to imagine it's been that long!) and boy, even then in March, it was so cold that I'm shocked it WASN'T snowing. I have to admit, it was the first time in my life that I actually wore two pairs of pants layered each day because it was so uncomfortable being outside for long hours in the cold and freezing wind. That's one thing you really don't get from the pics - for those not familiar, Tokyo Disney Resort is literally built on a landfill on the Pacific Ocean, so basically three sides of it are water. It gets extremely windy there. Kudos and a big thanks to the photographer who braved those conditions to share such beautiful images with the rest of us warm in our homes! Definitely something special that you don't often get to see.
