  • [Question] Planning our visit to TDR Spring of 2014.

What do y'all think would be the wisest thing to do? Plan on visiting the Resort the week right before Golden Week or the week right after to avoid huge crowds, and enjoy warmer/sunnier(?) weather, or visit at the end of March/beginning of April to see the Cherry Blossoms while risking rainy/colder days? :confused3:

Well, I just went to Japan March 28-April 8. It was great for viewing the cherry blossoms, but the kids were out of school for spring break so the parks were crowded. You would have to decide what your priority is, cherry blossoms (totally worth it in my opinion) or less crowded Disney parks. Some of the days had beautiful weather, but there were days of pouring rain and wind too.

Go BEFORE Golden Week; between when the Japanese kids return to school after spring break and Golden Week. It's become one of the least crowded times of year at the parks.

Sounds like the first 2 weeks in April are more of less our best bet? No major Holidays that I can see in a Japanese calendar.

You have to wait until the Japanese school calendars for 2014 are posted. Typically spring break there bleeds into April. I think you're likely to be able to find out exactly when Golden Week is in 2014, and go the week prior to that. That's the safest thing to do.

Hm, I didn't know they also had Spring Break over there. So that's another thing to look up

According to National and Public Holidays in Japan in 2014 | Office Holidays Golden Week runs from the end of April through the beginning of May. I wasn't able to find dates for Spring Break. In the United States, Spring Break is determined by the individual school districts or counties.

If we have calculated our miles and points correctly, we might be joining you in mid-April. :-) Have you picked out your dates, yet?
