  • [Question] Buying D23 Japan Expo tickets

So google translate isnt much help because some of the text is on images. Can anyone give a quick rundown on when a US resident could buy tickets? I see lottery for AP, Fan Club and DVC but not much more detail?

    Thanks!

My understanding is that tickets will be made available via the lottery system you mentioned.

I have not seen anything regarding lottery for people outside of Japan.

Re: Buying D23 Japan Expo tickets

Just perused the D23 Expo Japan website.

I'm not completely fluent in Japanese, but from what I can make out you must have a "My Disney" Japan. Didn't look like you need a Japan address to create an account, but you do need an email address. Not sure if the email has to be a Japan one. The My Disney registration site is all in Japanese only.

The lottery system appears to give priority to Japan residents who are USA D23 members. All other groups/memberships mentioned are explicity for Japanese residents except for DVC. It did not say explicitly you have to be a Japan DVC member, but my speculation is that it was just an oversight on the website and they are talking about Japan DVC members.

Payment if you are selected by the lottery system has to be done by credit card or using the 7-11 in store payment system.

No mention of how people outside of Japan can register or enter the lottery.

If you really would like to attend I would suggest either contacting D23 to see if they know of how people outside of Japan can enter the lottery.

I wouldn't bother. Both D23 conventions in Anaheim were total busts. Waste of time and money. Incredibly poorly organized with lots of disappointed attendees.
At least in Japan you won't be treated like worthless cattle.

I had a great time at both Anaheim expos and would loved to go to the Japan expo if I could have fit it into my schedule. So I guess it realy is "to each their own".

I guess you like to stand on four-hour lines ... either that, or you bought the $2500 VIP package.
