  • Nihon Monsters inc

In the News section it has a like to the Orlando paper. The article is about Monsters Inc coming to Tomorrowland at Tokyo DL. Will it be a copy of DCA's or an entirely new ride, the article doesn't say.

I doubt it will be the same ride you got at DCA.

) No kidding at $88 million I'd expect more "umph" to it than DCA's dark ride.
SUPPOSEDLY (ie not confirmed) the ride will feature interactive portions where guests use flashlights to capture/freeze/stop/whatever monsters. Similar in a way to Buzz. The concept art goes along with this...just nothing official has been said about this yet.

I'm sure it will have few similarities because DCA's used the same track and vehicles as Superstar limo. Plus there's the space issue that they will have to work with, but I've never been on meet the world so I have no Idea how big the building is.

Does anyone know how much they spent on DCA's version?

I know that TDLFAN would know, but my guess is that the building is the size of
              the Innovention's CoP building.

The "Meet the World" building, was it a Carousel of Progress? Did the theater revolve around the show, or did the audience sit still and the show revolved around?

The reason I ask is maybe it won't be a ride through attraction, maybe it'll be an interactive show?

Yeah, I doubt TDL would accept DCA's version... that ride could be improved beyond recognition with $88million. It maybe not even be the same storyline. Is it definitely a dark ride? It could be like TDS's Journey to the Center, I mean, in the ride technology.

Hmm, 1-30-06? I think...sometime this week. Laughingplace had the art work itty itty bitty though but I don't know if it is still up.

"Meet the World" was a similar type show to carrousel. The stages were stationary while the 4 audience seating areas were built on a turntable that rotated in the center.

However, unlike CoP, the building was/is not circular. My guess is that a sizeable
chunk of the $88M is for the actual ride system.

TDLFAN: do you know the size of the building? is it smaller or larger than the DCA
                              Limo building?

BTW. I wouldn't be surprised if they use the TDL Pooh ride technology for their Monsters. That alone could make their version superior & more repeatable.
