  • New show opens at Broadway Music Theatre.

Did you know the Broadway style revue show "Encore!" will close on July 4th ?
As part of the TDS 5th Anniversary, The show is replaced.

The successor is "Big Band Beat".
    It's a revue-style show that centers on the swing musics in 20's ~ 40's.

The theater will reopen on July 14th.
I hear that there are 2 days sneak preview on July 12th & 13th.
(They have only 8 days to rehab!!!!)
And it is open for limited time. Until March 2007.

This new show will end next March before "Snow Queen" begins in July 2007. This show will feature non-Japanese performers and Disney characters. The show itself will be similar to the Starlight Jazz show from a few years ago.

Along with Mystic Rhythms, Encore is an E ticket attraction that is a must do. In fact, I have been in the theater for four standing ovations. I am sad to see it go. I hope that Snow Queen is just as impressive.

OLC was not too happy with how Encore panned out. Personally, I enjoyed the original version with the opening day cast. After the edits and somewhat "lower-quality" performers, it lacked something. Snow Queen is supposed to be much better. The soundtrack alone is very impressive.

Ya, I like these shows too. These are representatives of TDS.
          I commemorate Encore's closure.

Yes Alan Menken I hear, that should be good. Are you implying that you have heard selctions from it? I'd love to know where if you have that is. As for the Encore edits, yes the original cast and longer production was much better, but I think even after the cut, I thought this was STILL a great show and worthy of a sit down.

I agree about Encore. It is still a good show and fun to watch. It's sad to see it go but it is time for a change.

Back to the topic, I finally saw the photograph that Polygonaut linked to. That is a picture of the Starlight Jazz show that ran a couple of years ago at DisneySea. It is used as an concept image for the new show. It can also be seen on the official site and other fansite:
